Bosom Buddies is a non-profit Christian organization that services a local state hospital providing nappy bags with clothing, blankets and products for the newborn as well as hygiene products for the mother. We personally deliver the bags to each mom and spend one-on-one time with each baby and mother. By doing this we ensure that no baby goes home without being adequately clothed and each mom feels that their community do care and the birth is recognized and celebrated. We ensure the mothers of premature infants who are involved in kanga care, have access to free tea & coffee supplies as well as a few food basics. We are about to embark on assisting the pediatric ward as well which is very exciting. How exactly this will be done has not quite been figured out as yet.

At the moment we only bless Hottentots Holland Hospital and visit 4 days a week. We are hoping to branch out and cover Macasser maternity hospital as well as Grabouw at some point. We give out 180 bags a month which is about 80% of the moms. If a very needy mom births on a day when we are not there, the nurses will phone us to deliver a bag. We also take the kanga moms to church on a Sunday morning which is great for them as they are stuck in a small room 24/7 and need to get out.

How can you help…….
By donating your gently used infant clothing 0-3 and 3-6 month size, baby products and mom goodies. We also need people who can sew bags, blankets and knit little jerseys and hats.
Our biggest shortage at the moment is also hospital volunteers who can give an hour a week to go down and pray with the moms and spend a little time with them. We visit Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
For the guys….. we need you too. We need financial support, practical fix it support for the pediatric ward and we are also desperate for bigger premises for BB.
