Bre'r rabbit & the tar baby told by Uncle Remus

I was looking for an image of tar when I came across this picture. I know it is wrong and I shouldn't have but I couldn't stop laughing I cracked up.

So thoroughly disgusted with my behavior for laughing at the tar baby I went and did a little research. The actual story was written with no ill intent in mind. Tar baby was used as an metaphor to a sticky situation that just gets worse and worse the more you try and handle it. So the writer was not thinking of a black baby when he wrote it even though people use this to prove that Disney is racist.

So I went and found a whole series of Uncle Remus videos on youtube and I liked them. It is funny and light hearted and honestly for that day and age when these was made I thought it was very advance and open minded seeing as the lead is black. Where during that time could you find the main actors was black people or African American.
