Cape Town fires in the night

This was last year's fire here in Gordons Bay, Cape Town. At this time the fire had been burning for a few days and no one thought it would go around Gordons Bay, but it did.

The night this photo was taken 7 people lost their homes and the fire continued till the next day and a few days after.

The smoke was so bad that one could not breath.

This is a shocking reminder of how fast nature can take back its ground but people continue to build houses even higher up in the mountains.
