This is the highest building in Africa. 223 Metres high.
This once was the centre of Johannesburg but had to be closed because of crime in the 90's if I am correct.

You are incorrect ;), The Carlton Hotel was closed which is the smaller building just to the right of the Carlton Center.
Carlton Center is still very much open and very busy
