Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole - Movie Trailer

Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole is a animated film based on a 15 book series written by Kathryn Lasky. Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole is based on three of those books The Capture, The Journey and The Rescue. The production took place in Australia but Warner Bros. owns the film rights to the books, that makes this a Australian slash American production. Producer of the film is Zack Snyder who also produced 300 and Watchmen making him familiar with the type of Graphics entailed in such a film. Animation was done by Animal Logic who wowed the world with Happy Feet.

This is a really wonderful movie that anyone can watch from toddler through to pensioner's. The story line is true fantasy tale, looking at the trailer a person is already taken in at how real the owls seem. Not only is it captivating it's also something not seen before. A movie solely based on owls who lives in this truly unique world with human characteristics and personalities.

Soren is a young owl who is captivated by his fathers tales of the Guardians of Ga'hoole a mythic group of owl warriors who fought against the Pure Ones who is a evil army who wants to rule the owlkind. His jealously leads the two brothers on a path one has only dreamed of the other never even considered. It's up to Soren to find the Guardians of Ga'hoole the only hope of defeating the Pure Ones and save the Owl Kingdoms.

Legend of the Guardians

Director Snyder selected a good cast starting with Soren whose voice was done by Jim Sturgess. Kludd voice is by Ryan Kwanten. Here is a list with some of the rest of the cast: Helen Mirren as Nyra; Anthony LaPaglia as Twilight; Sam Neill as Metal Beak; Abbie Cornish as Otulissa

Going the Distance - Movie trailer

Drew Barrymore has been a figure on the big screen since she was a baby coming from a long line of family actors. Drew is one of the few child actors who has survived the limelight even though it meant by the age of thirteen she had her first stint in rehab. It took many years of mishaps to turn into the woman she is today but through all her troubled times she was always very good on screen. Any movie with Drew Barrymore in it is a bonus.

Going the distance is a romantic comedy directed by featuring Drew Barrymore and her ex Justin Long. Though there are rumours the two reunited during filming nothing has been confirmed as both actors are very private people when it comes to relationships. Even though the two are no longer a real life couple the chemistry and playfulness between them is still obvious on screen.

When Erin (played by Drew Barrymore) meets Garrett (played by Justin Long) in New York they both know that it can never be serious between them because in six weeks Erin has to go home in San Francisco, California to finish her last year of school. But despite that they fall for each other and realise they are good together. At the end of six weeks they decided to try out a long distance relationship. They try to make it work with Garrets two best friends who do not want to 'loose' their buddy to a relationship and Erin's overprotective sister Corrine (played by Christina Applegate) trying to warn them that it just won't wok. Joined by the fact that Garrets career as an assistant music scout takes off and Erin receiving a job offer in California as a journalist would they be able to work it out?

The international trailer for Going the Distance

Due to be released on 3 September 2010 Going the Distance looks like lots of fun. With enough laughs for a guy to enjoy and with enough romance/drama for a girl to enjoy this will be perfect movie for a date night.

Piranha 3D - Movie Trailer

Something that has not  been released in a while, a good Horror Comedy combination. Piranha 3D shows the best of both genres of film and in 3D. Piranha 3D was directed by French director Alexandre Aja who finds comical and inventive ways to kill of the characters, which he has a bit of a reputation for. Here is a plot summary:

Sleepy Lake Victoria population 5 000 expands each year to 50 000 during the annual Spring Break when the lake is swarmed by lay back students out to party. This year is a bit different when there is a sudden earthquake underwater. When locals realised a underwater cavern opened up they investigate and find Piranha's but after taking one to the local fish expert they discover it's not just a Piranha but ancient Piranha's. Now it is up to the local law enforcement to warn the student's partying on the lake. From there horror and hilarity ensues.

Trailer for Piranha 3D

What makes this even better is the cast chosen for the movie, it's a combination of actors that really lightens most serious of moods. My personal favourite is Christopher Lloyd from Back to the Future movie series, he is one of those actors who is so likeable always seems scattered brained while intelligent. The folowing list is the main cast and their characters names:

Local Sheriff Julie Forester played by Elisabeth Shue ; Novak Radzinsky is played by Adam Scott ; Jake Forester is played by Steven R. McQueen ; Deputy Fallon is played by Ving Rhames ; Derrick Jones played by Jerry O'Connel ; Kelly Driscoll played by Jessica Szohr ; Mr. Goodman the fish expert is played by Christopher Lloyd ; Matthew Boyed is played by Richard Dreyfuss ; Todd Dupree is played by Cody Longo ; Danni is played by Kelly Brook ; Crystal played by Riley Steele ; Sam is played by Ricardo Chavira; Andrew who is called Drew is played by Paul Scheer and Paula Montellano is played by Dina Meyer.

The film Piranha 3D has opened in theatres on the 20th of August 2010. Piranha 3D comes with a warning - there are plenty of nudity full frontal for both women and men plus more blood than anyone would ever care to see.

The Expendables - Movie Trailer

As a little girl my brothers loved action movies the more knives, shooting and karate kicks the better. So when I saw The Expendables featuring all of the action hero's from the 90's until now, I got all nostalgic. The idea for the film was brought about by Sylvester Stallone whose first big hit was Rocky which he also wrote the script for, he also wrote The Expendables with David Callaham. This is going to be one awesome movie with one of the most 'kick-ass' cast ever put together: Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jet Li, Jason Statham, Steve Austin, Terry Crews, Eric Roberts, Mickey Rourke, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Gary Daniels - leading lady Gisele Itié. Stallone tried to get all of the action stars of our time but some just didn't work out

I talked to Van Damme. I talked to [Steven] Segal. I even talked to Chuck Norris. But there are certain considerations, like insanity.

According to Jean-Claude van Damme he didn't like Stallone's pitch, he wanted to know what his role will be but Stallone couldn't tell him. It would have been great if Chuck Norris and Steven Segal could have made a appearance.

Here is the basics of the plot;  A group of mercenaries who has only known war their whole lives is hired to overthrow a dictator in a South American country. They soon realise all is not what it seems and are trapped in a web of deceit and betrayal. Their mission  seeming to have failed and a innocent persons life is in danger the men struggle to see a way out and who to trust - even among themselves.

'The Expendables' Trailer HD

The Expendables was released in theatres on the Friday 13th August 2010 which is turning out to be a lucky number for them as it has already topped the Box Office.

There is a warning label with this movie if you are not used to detailed torture scenes, lots of blood and guts and all out war scenario's you will not like it. But there are also funny scenes that will have you cracking up especially Bruce Willis's famous dry humour, it balances things out a bit.

Remember this was made by boys for boys so it has all the typical he-man stuff in it.

Burlesque - Movie Trailer

At first when I saw Burlesque it was not complimentary. The set-up looked way to familiar the plot rather tacky and repetitive, like haven't I seen that before? But even though Burlesque, at first glance, looks just like any other movie created with a bunch of singer/dancers who can't act, I was pleasantly surprised by being interested. The movie looks good, there are chemistry between characters not sure how Christina Aguilera will play out on film but singing on stage she is riveting so it might just work. It has a typical start...

Ali (played by Christina Aguilera) is a very talented girl from a small town. She follows her dreams to Los Angeles of becoming a performer. Ali comes across this theatre club The Burlesque Lounge that is a from another world. Ali meets Tess (played by Cher) the club's owner and gets a job as a cocktail waitress. Ali soon looks for ways to get noticed, wanting to perform on stage. She makes some friends in one of the dancers Georgia (played by Julianne Hough) and bartender who is also a musician Jack (played by Cam Gigandet) but she also makes a enemy in a disturbed jealous dancer Nikki (played by Kristen Bell). With a little help from her new found friends, stage manager Sean (Stanley Tucci) and host named Alexis (played by Alan Cumming) Ali makes her way to the stage. Once there people take notice including a charming entrepreneur Marcus Gerber (played by Eric Dane) who wants to steal her away to 'bigger' things but will Ali follow her heart or her dream?

Trailer for Burlesque.

If you like stage performances with lots of dancing and singing you will love Burlesque. Release date is on 24th of November 2010.

'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides' teaser trailer for Comic Con

The fact that this will be the fourth instalment of the Pirates of the Caribbean doesn't lessen it's appeal. The first Pirates of the Caribbean was a huge success and opened the door for the rest, each brining the same characters as before and each time with a couple new. In Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides there will be many more new faces such as Penelope Cruz and a couple missing such as Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightly. Fortunately Johnny Depp has returned as Jack Sparrow, he dominated the previous three becoming the main attraction for many. It is not surprising that in this instalment of Pirates of the Caribbean that he is the lead character as Jack Sparrow has become one of the most liked movie character of our time.

They are still filming in Hawaii at the moment so the trailer is more of a taste of what it's all about than the usual trailer released. Due to be released on the 20th May 2011 in normal theatres, Disney Digital 3D and IMAX 3D theatres

Vampires Suck - Movie Trailer

If you are tired of the Twilight Saga and it's obsessive fans here is another group of people that feels the same. Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer, the Uwe Bolls has made Vampires Suck as a comedy portraying what they really think of the Vampire fad. They have made in the past similar films such as Epic Movie, Disaster Movie, Date Movie and Meet the Spartans maybe the most successfully one.

Vampires Suck is about Becca, played by Jenn Proske, just a normal teenager with a overbearing father who tends to embarrass her, going though high school. She 'falls' for two boys one a vampire and the other a werewolf. While she tries to decide who the lucky boy will be Becca's friends are also struggling in the romance department. All these issues clashes at the prom

Vampire Sucks is only due to appear in theatres on 18 August 2010

Rango - teaser trailer released

Rango is a animated film about a chameleon named Rango who haves identity crisis and goes on a journey of 'self-discovery' in the Desert. Johnny Depp is doing the voice of Rango, that's so perfect Johnny Depp as a confused chameleon. There are a couple of other people also starring in the film but their roles are rather obscure at the moment, which is perfect. There's Isla Fisher as Lucy, Abigail Breslin as Missy, Timothy Olyphant as the Spirit of the West the rest at the moment are just names what they role is, is not released just yet. Alfred Molina, Bill Nighy, Harry Dean Staton, Ray Winstone, Stephen Root, Beth Grant and Ned Beatty.

Rango is directed by Gore Verbinski that brought us the The Pirates of Caribbean. With a excellent director a very talented cast and throw in animation with a lot of humour guarantees a success.

Rango Trailer HD (2011)

If the trailer is this funny I cannot wait to see the movie. Rango looks awesome but unfortunately for us will only be released at theatres on the 4th March 2011.

Tangled: Disney's newest animated film - Movie Trailer

Tangled started out as Rapunzel or Rapunzel Unbraided but Disney decided against those names for fear that it would scare of the boys. The movie itself is lightly based on the classic story Repunzel the German Fairy tale. Only lightly because it's not just the name that has changed but most of the essentials, as instead of a prince on his white stead the hero is a scoundrel thief on a white horse. And Rapunzel herself is not the demure maiden sitting about 'knitting' waiting to be released, she is spunky and lively.  To say they have changed some of the dynamics of the original tale is a understatement but having said that Tangled actually looks better. Being a fan of traditional tales and normally find it annoying that movie makers tend to think they have the right to alter these tales that has meant so much to people, this has come as a surprise.  It will be the 50th animated feature in the Walt Disney Animated Classics and it looks like they wanted to make sure it will be one to remember.

Flynn Rider, voice by Zachary Levi, is a bandit on the run and comes across a secluded tower decide that it was perfect to hide, that is until he realises it is already occupied by Rapunzel, voice by Mandy Moore. Rapunzel was stolen from her parents when she was just a child to be locked up in the tower. Over the years her hair has grown longer and longer containing a magic of it's own. Soon she realises that Flynn could be her escape from the tower and bring her the adventure she has always longed for.

Tangled will only be released on 24 November 2010. Disney's aim in Tangled was to appeal to a larger audience than just little girls, I think they have pulled it off.
