A few weeks ago I decided I am going to start writing about survival again since that is my main interest but last night I saw DSTV has survival month on, a entire month of showing survival programs.
So, i thought if I would go ahead with mine it would seem I am copying them, but i am not. Just wanted to say that and get that out there.
Anyway the tool of the survival tool of the month is a machete, i will blog about that a bit later.
UK and USA preparing for civil chaos because of economic crisys

I had some news today that the UK is preparing for a summer of unrest or rather chaos. This all because of the economic recession.
The USA as well is preparing for mass riots and chaos to break out. They are even deploying 20 000 troops just for this reason.
The USA government is also investing in armored cars and teaching crowd control.
Interesting times.

The other day I got myself some flint and steal. You know you strike the flint against the steal and the small pieces that fall off are heated, they light the tinder which then in turn lights the fire which gives you a real great fuzzy feeling because you did not use any modern form of lighting the fire. Well, to my surprise I found that I had never used a flint and it was harder than I thought. You see you have to strike the flint a certain way to light the fire. It really is not as easy as it looks. This will teach us a lesson. Many people gather equipment for they might need it one day and even though they have the equipment they have no idea how to use it. If you dont know how to use your survival gear it really is not worth the extra weight, especially in real survival situations. Learn to use your gear so you dont get stuck with something you dont know how to use as well as carrying the extra weight.Exploring sea food.

When you are in a place where you need food like food shortages or some situation where you dont have food and you are close to the sea you have a entire meal waiting for you.
There are thousands of things to eat in the sea and even so right on the beach.

What could possibly be written about a blade you think? Well this is after all what makes the swiss army knife a knife. Without this blade it would just be a swiss army tool. The blade is according to me the most important part of the knife. Why I am actually writing about the blade is not to show all the functions because its possibly endless. A lot of times we use blades to unscrew screws and to cut through wire etc but to protect your swiss army knife you have to use every tool for what its made. If you use the blade for cutting wood etc, something you can actually use the saw for you are probably wasting your swiss army knife and not taking full advantage of the knife itself. Remember you are not carrying a single blade with you. You are carrying a toolbox and the swiss army knife has a tool for every need in a knife.

The small blade on the swiss army knife is the same as the big blade but should just be used for small things. Like cutting biltong or slicing something more delicate. The small blade might also be stronger than the big blade since it sits close to the frame of the knife. The small blade should also be used same as the big blade, when you have no other tool on the knife that can be used then use the small and big blades of the swiss army knife.

There are many uses for using the file on the Swiss Army knife. One of which is probably to file your nails which is probably what most people think its for. The file can be used in woodwork to get something to be smoother than it is. Strangely it can also be used to open a letter. This specific tool, the file does not have that many uses I could list here but whenever the occasion rises one does now and then find a use for it.
The file has another use I did not mention. With the file you can saw off small screws and bolts as well.
