The reason most LOCAL people do not travel around in South Africa is probably because of the crime.  I dont think is because of poverty. We live here and we know how bad crime in this country is. Why would you want to go travel in such a dangerous place?

No I would much rather take my cash and go spend it somewhere, where I know my family would be safe. Traveling in South Africa is risky. No matter how cheap they make those airline tickets.

I am a South African and not proud to be one at the moment. I would not just go travel. Most interesting places like Table Mountain and the Cape Town nature reserve is a hang out for muggers. Who wants to go visit the most dangerous country in the world?

If they stop crime we would have a rich country. South Africa is one of the most beautiful places in the world but sadly also the most dangerous.
