Matjiesfontein is one of the best places I’ve had a holiday at. As you drive in the only thing that basically reminds you that you are not in the 18th century is maybe your cellphone or the cars standing outside. Everything about Matjiesfontein’s look and feel is like you are back 100 years.
Even the entrance as you can see here is something out of a Victorian movie.
