Get your connection cut off in France
Monday, 26 November 2007
This is probably old news but users who use P2P in France could soon get their internet connections cut off. P2P is still a great way of getting even legal content and most people including governments do not see the usefulness of P2P but anyway. A quote by French president Nicolas Sarkozy endorsed the deal with rhetoric that is bound to win him an Honorary Life Membership of both the RIAA and MPAA: “We run the risk of witnessing a genuine destruction of culture…The Internet must not become a high-tech Far West, a lawless zone where outlaws can pillage works with abandon or, worse, trade in them in total impunity. And on whose backs? On artists’ backs.”
