Quality blogging always snowballs
The reason search engines might become a thing of the past is because of social networking. I think the only times I really use Google is to check my adsense stats. And since the move where they wont even be using people from other countries for their referrals I dont know how much longer I would be using adsense. Anyway this post is not about Adsense its about good content.
Quality posts that provide the user with a experience and useful information, not just to help them but also to inspire them is what brings traffic. But one thing you will notice is the instant traffic does not come from Google, maybe in time Google will see the links to your site and you might get some hits but the traffic I am talking about is the snowball social networking and social bookmarking kind.
If you can manage to write quality posts of this kind you have no need to be stressing about SEO, I dont mean drop SEO i just mean that wont be your biggest goal because your main traffic will be social networks and social bookmarking sites.
I cant speak for other bloggers but I know with my own sites, I type a few hundred posts to get on the radar and then I start typing quality, as soon as I start typing quality and really focus on what I write with not just SEO in mind but trying to provide quality for readers my traffic immediately switches from Search engines to social networking and bookmarking sites. You can always measure the quality of your blog post by seeing what is your greatest source of traffic. If its from search engines you need to step it up a bit. Put more effort in your blogging.
Characteristics of quality writing and outstanding blogging
1. Not following everyone else as I said in the post before this one
2. Give something your users can not find somewhere else. This is hard as there are so many blogs that provide quality content.
3. Be original and stop using top bloggers as your blog posts, what I mean is build your own brand by building your own brand. Link to them but dont make a post out of their posts. Write your own blog.
4. Put some work in it. You can always see when someone has just typed a quick post and submit it to some social network site just to gain traffic, I did it when I started blogging so I know some people do it. You might get some traffic but its better to gain readers and the only way to gain readers is by working hard on your blog posts and articles.
5. Write something people will not forget and will keep on coming back to your blog to refer to it as not just a post but a guide that needs to be remembered.
6. A quality article gets links back. If you write quality instead of quantity you will get links back. Quality blogging aimed at providing something useful and out of the ordinary will be linked to.
7. Quality blogging always provides a experience and not just a great read. What i mean is when you read something boring you will not leave any different than what you came, but if you provide a experience, making them excited about what you wrote you might have a great post.
8. Quality blogging has no need to answer questions in the comments since all things are answered within a great post and leaves no gaps.
9. A good blog is one that does not need to advertise his rss button because people will look for it themselves. ( I dont mean if you have a big rss button you dont have good content. I just mean if you have good content and you dont have a rss button you really dont need one because it will be found)
10. Lastly, quality content makes people look out for your next post. Like its some kind of candy. Almost like a reward and satisfy them when they read it.
