We are from Helderberg, a small place in the Western Cape. According to most people Helderberg consists out of Somerset West, Strand, Gordons bay and some say Stellenbosch, but to be safe we will leave Stellenbosch out of this. Helderberg is one of those small communities where everyone knows everyone. And if you do something they all know about it. Helderberg is also a great place for tourists, with Strand beach being around 5km long it really offers you something to do. Somerset West also has its fair share of things to do, options include climbing Helderberg, Horseback riding and some other things of interest.

Helderberg got the name because of the mountain. Helderberg. Long ago some people were on a boat on their way to Cape Town harbour. They ended up in Falsebay and hence the name Falsebay. They probably saw the mountain and thought wow, look “Helderberg” which means clear mountain if translated into English
