Sometimes we need to go places and actually use that laptop without a cord. I go to friends quite often or wherever I go I want to be connected. But then there are those times that I overdo it and my Laptop’s battery seems to not make it.

That is when I do some things to save that extra power and suck the battery entirely dry.

First of all, when you are not using your laptop and you want to save power switch off your monitor. Most laptops has a shortcut for that. Mine is the blue button and F11. The blue button is specific to mine, yours would be something else. Remember to read the manual and find it.

When you are copying stuff or download big files from another computer, put the screen or monitor off. It will save power.

Set your screen the darkest you can. The darker the monitor the more battery power you will save.

Switch off Antivirus. Just trust me. It saves a lot of power.

Using the usb mouse is much easier than using the touchpad on your laptop, but unplugging all usb devices will give your laptop even a further boost.

There are more ways to get some extra battery life, these are just some I though I’d show.
