The best way to survive a lighting storm is to fall flat on your face and be the lowest thing in the area. Last year it happened that people were playing soccer and lighting striked. The entire field went down because of it and they had to carry some of them off the field because they just could not walk.
Lighting strikes a the highest object in a field and if you are the highest visible object its likely that you are in danger. If its possible be the lowest thing on the field. If you lie flat down on your face and you are still the highest object it might be a great idea to start planning something else. If you are on a hill and you are the highest object for miles my advice would be to run for it. Remember your chances are not less for being struck by lighting if you run than if you walk. So if there is no where to hide, make a run for it.
A lot of people will differ and if you decide to run we can not be held responsible. But what else to do? If you are the highest object lighting will go for you. The best is to use common sense. Digg a hole as fast as you can or aim for a ditch.
