FIFA’s 2010 soccer world cup communication center robbed in Johannesburg by 25 armed military styled robbers

Johannesburg, South Africa – A massive armed robbery occurred at the FIFA communication center in Johannesburg yesterday.

Johannesburg, South Africa – A massive armed robbery occurred at the FIFA communication center in Johannesburg yesterday. The Center that is being set up for almost 1000 journalists was robbed by about 25 gun bearing military style robbers.

The Braamfontein center was attacked at about 9am yesterday morning and was raided of communication and video equipment worth a couple of million rand.

The security guards were attacked with guns and told to lie flat on the floor while they were being raided by the armed robbers..

Vehicles came and picked up the equipment, some of which is so heavy it takes five people to carry. These vehicles came in convoy making turns to pick up the equipment from the armed robbers according to people that were there.

FIFA has not mentioned anything about the robbery as far as we can tell.

FIFA believes that South Africa will be safe for the 2010 world cup.

A recent poll on Fromtheold shows that almost 75% of people think that tourists and visitors to the World cup will not be safe.
