Every now and then I just blog about something else for a week or so and check out if there is a niche other than what I am using that might make my blog a more successful niche. Its one thing to check out a niche but it's another thing to blog about it to truly see how successful you can be in that particular niche. That is why I believe you should get a domain name that you can use for anything, something that has personal meaning to you. Having a domain name that is stuck to one niche might be less profitable because once you have decided to that niche and you get the domain, there is no turning back. But having a domain that you can use for anything would get you much further. This blog of mine is targeting a few small niches as well as big ones. Now if I had used my other domain "problog.co.za" I would be able to write about South Africa or maybe things I like for instance : Ubuntu. But having a domain name that you can fit in anywhere is the key for having a long term blogging goal. Also remember your passion will change for things as time goes on. Then you dont want to build your pr and all those ratings from scratch.
