Are they mad. If they ban cars people would have to depend on the none existing public transport of Cape Town. And when they want to go anywhere they would be stuck. Imagine that many people trying to take a taxi to the world cup. Oh and dont forget the taxis shooting at each other, I am sure the football fans will like that. Banning cars around the 2010 Fifa soccer stadium is not the brightest thing to do. I know there is problems concerning parking but just think of the problems the city would have if there was no way to get to and from the soccer stadium. And not just that depending on how big the banned circle is. If its the entire city, which would be mad, I can see some people kicking up a storm about that.
