Patrick Swayze dies of cancer - age 57

Patrick Swayze has died after 2 years of battling pancreatic cancer. Condolences to his wife, Lisa Niemi who he married in 1975 and the rest of his family.

One of my favorite movies ever was Dirty Dancing. I was 10years old the first time I watched it with my mother and has seen it many times since. For this alone he would always be a legend in the film industry for the first film to sell one million copies on video earning over $300 million. Patrick went on to make Ghost which was also a major hit. After that there where a couple of projects and movies but he would always be loved for these two movies who moved millions.

He was a dancer, singer and a actor but he was also a nature conservationist. After spending time in Africa in 2004 he said wanted to bring to light "Man's greed and absolute unwillingness to operate according to Mother Nature's laws."

Even though he was terminally ill he never stopped giving and hoping. Over the last year he has started writing his memoirs with the help of his wife.
