Hi. I am currently teaching English in South Korea. I was a proud student at Stellenbosch University and now a proud member of the Alumni. Various South African English teachers in working in Korea studied at Stellenbosch University and are outraged at the footage seen on www.youtube.com. South Africans teaching in Korea are very upset about this as it puts South Africa, yet again, in a negative light in the global community. No only has this message reached London, but also the Far East! Including Stellenbosch Alumni teaching in Taiwan and China! Many South Africans working here are very proud of South Africa. Amidst all the Americans, Canadians, Australians, British and New Zealanders teaching abroad, South Africans tend to be the MOST patriotic! We constantly tell people how wonderful our country is. News like this shames us and our country and the South African community should realize this! Especially authoritarian figures such as the police!
