Just typical of south Africas government. They can’t think of any laws to improve our crime rate before 2010 soccer world cup so what do they do they want to legalize prostitution during the world cup. Does this make sense. At the beginning I was like “are they mad” but after reading the argument it’s actually starting to make sense. You see the argument from the chief of police ,Jackie Selebi, is that if prostitution is legalized it would allow the police to deal with more important security issues. But on the flip side there are others concerned about human trafficking.
Here is my opinion there are prostitutes there will always be prostitutes and if it was legal the woman have a foot to stand on. Now as it is any one can do anything to a prostitute because hey who’s going to complain if you assault an criminal. But there should be a line drawn for example no standing on corners it should be run in brothels and etc. so that people don’t have to see it. And if that is what they are going to do it has to be permanent they cant just make it for the duration of the world cup so that the foreigners can get their jollies on.
