Well i finally finished Rainbow 6 Vegas 2, never actually played the first one, but i must say this one was not too bad. Personally i love just shooting things and as a naturally cautious person it makes gaming a bit odd, but having a team to send in front of you just makes it not actually easier, but certainly more interesting. Strategising how to take out the enemy, flank, full on assault, covert entry or just blow them to hell.
The graphics of the game was really life like, the ability to choose every aspect of your gear a welcome feature, this game was definitely paid attention to when it was made, accuracy good, real to life, realism effects were all included. A bit off with the physics, i find it a bit strange that a piece of plywood managed to protect the terrorist from medium to high penetration automatic gunfire though, but hey, this is the 21st century, nothing is perfect.
My only real gripe with this game was the fact that your team of 2 moves in a team of 2, i liked the ghost recon team control way more, separating your team and having the ability to attack from many directions appealed to that tactical side of my mind greatly. Another irritation was the 2nd last mission your running solo which is easy enough until near the end when the terrorists just seem to keep on coming, cover is limited, or well plenty cover, just useless locations, they just keep coming from the same place and the only decent cover is off to the left or right in the line of fire. From the left you cant seem them well enough to aim, and from the front if you get out to shoot there is usually some unexpected terrorist waiting to shoot you in the head.
The final mission was the best, an awesome challenge @ the end, going solo, limited cover, and a helicopter shooting rite at you.
Overall a good game, good multilayer options a simple and easily climbed ranking level, you can easily get half way through the ranks just in the single player mode, the rest you may want to attempt online.
For those of you who like thinking before you shoot, this is a must have in your gaming collection.
