Social media are usually people that go there because someone else recommended the url to them. They might not have interest in the topic you blog about. Social media people are also less likely to use the ads than those that come from search engines. If you have relevant ads next to your content you will make more money from search engines because they already go to your site knowing exactly what you write about by seeing the title on the search engine.
So my opinion and experience is that you make more money from traffic that comes from search engines.
