Greyton is a small community and town about 40Km from Caledon. We were on our way to Grabouw to fetch our drivers licenses and decided to go on a road trip to caledon since we were already in Grabouw. The reason we went to grabouw in the first place is because Somerset West’s traffic department is non existent and they have moved to Gordons Bay where the people sit in queues all day just to get ther license or renew their drivers license.

So we drove from Grabouw after picking up our licenses and went to Caledon but I was in school in Greyton when i was younger. So we decided to drive to Greyton.  When we finally got there we were greeted by a small sign that says welcome to Greyton. What we saw after that was one of the most beautifull towns in South Africa. No wonder the cheapest plot or property in Greyton is R500 000. This little peaceful town is tucked away between the mountains and just on the other side is Mcgregor.  Although it feels like you are miles away from the busy life in the bigger towns and city life. Greyton is one of the hidden gems of South Africa and is most probably the best place I have seen in a long while. Worth a day trip.

Greyton is around 120km from Somerset West and the drive there is not that busy. Really worth a visit.
