Forty people was injured during a Spanish bullring ‘performance’ in Tafalla, northern Spain. The youngest person rushed to hospital was a ten year old boy who received an abdominal injury, he is reportedly in intensive care at a Pamplona hospital.
This specific event was where the people try to provoke the bull into charging. The bull damaged his horn trying to jump the enclosure and was being returned to the corral when it suddenly charged and jumped the 1.5 meters barrier where the bullfighters and officials stand. In the video chaos ensues as he lands in the middle of the spectators just when things seem to calm down someone threw a cape at the bull causing it to charge once again. It was eventually cornered and roped in.
This all comes a month after the north-eastern region of Spain, Catalonia banned bullfighting. Giving more ammunition to those who oppose this tradition of killing bulls as a sport and wants it banned throughout Spain.
