What happened to Kleinmond lagoon?

Kleinmond, South Africa - Kleinmond lagoon used to be a relatively clean lagoon. Well as clean as the water could be from mixing with the sea now and then, however now the water seems to be going nowhere and the beach is vanishing along with it.

Then there is the restaurant, they make brilliant food and croissants as well as some nice coffee.that was recently built there where the old beach toilets used to be. The view is magnificent. The river or small stream that usually refreshed the lagoon with new water is no more, now only when the high tide comes in does the water from the sea and the water from the lagoon mix.

The bridge that I used to walk on as a child is now almost completely covered in water, the beach that used to be one of the top beaches in the Overberg is getting smaller and vanishing.

Tomorrow is Spring!

Tomorrow spring starts on this part of Africa and it sure is about time. The flu and the cold weather and all that is getting a bit much now. I cant wait to get myself a canoe and go drifting around at the harbour catching some waves, taking the longboard for a few waves and just relaxing with the family on the beach.

Jessica Alba bikini beach babe

Wow does Jessica Alba look good!I don't even think she was in this good of shape during the shooting of deep blue. But she is a true example of hard work pays of, I have read many times of how she says how much work she has to put in to look the way she does. Her tummy almost looks photo shopped it's so perfect.

Beach House designed by Nathan Good Architect generates own electricity

Beach House designed by Nathan Good Architect generates own electricity actually it generates more electricity than it can use. This energy sufficient home, Cannon Beach Residence is situated at Oregon Beach. Not only does it have magnificent views it is engineered that it uses less energy than what it can generate. To me that is awesome, when I was a little girl I wanted to become an Architect and my goal was to designs home that would be good for the earth. I was just really bad at maths, so seeing designs like this is awesome.

The house has 12 inch thick concrete walls and 5kWh rooftop photovoltaic system. The house was constructed using a lot of recycled materials made to last for generations. There are Solar thermal tubes to provide hot water with a ground source heat pump that works like an air conditioner heating or cooling the air. Even the shape of the house was chosen for energy conservation in mind.

Sea weed washed up on beach at Misty Cliffs

April 21, 2009 by Daizy

I was on a small beach between Misty Cliffs and the light house right by what looked like a fisherman's small factory building. The beach was very cluttered and there where many seagulls but I noticed how the sun shone through the sea weed, beautiful. Because it was rather late in the day, a half hour before sunset, the sun slanted right through the sea weed and made it look just like stained class scattered on the beach. The photo came out much better than I could have hoped.

House in Gordons bay very close to the fire

That wooden house was on everyone's mind. The fire was just so close to it. Later when I was standing on the other beach (the safe one) I saw massive fires there. I wonder if that house made it through.
