Here is the Complete Jewish Bible’s version of Genesis 1:1-5
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was unformed and void, darkness was on the face of the deep, and the Spirit of God hovered over the surface of the water. 3 Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and God divided the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. So there was evening, and there was morning, one day.
Now lets look at the King James Bible or Authorized version clearly stating that it was “the first day”:
1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2 And the earth was without form, andvoid; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. 3 And God said , Let there be light: and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, thatit was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. 5 And God called the light Day, and thedarkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day
See my point? The KJV clearly makes us to know that it was THE first day whereas the Complete Jewish Bible just says “one day” not “the first day”. This clearly promotes evolution.
EDIT: Actually the English on the side is only the ESV and not a direct translation of the Hebrew.
As you might know most bibles replace VIRGIN with YOUNG WOMAN or such. Especially “Jewish” versions such as the Complete Jewish Bible thereby denying important scripture. The Delitzsch’s translation of the New Testament into Hebrew actually uses VIRGIN to my amazement.
Big difference between stupid and foolish. In Galatians 3 the Complete Jewish Bible calls the people “stupid”.
1 You stupid Galatians! Who has put you under a spell? Before your very eyes Yeshua the Messiah was clearly portrayed as having been put to death as a criminal! 2 I want to know from you just this one thing: did you receive the Spirit by legalistic observance of Torah commands or by trusting in what you heard and being faithful to it? 3 Are you that stupid? Having begun with the Spirit’s power, do you think you can reach the goal under your own power?
