Rather Fight Crime than Progress!

April 10, 2010 by Georgelj28

I read with both dismay and disgust the article and photographs in our local giveaway newsletter of residents of Magaliessig suburb demonstrating against Makro opening up a branch in Fourways. Why did they not stop the building of the new hotels in that area!

Magalissig is not even near the site of the proposed Makro. The dismay and disgust stems from the fact that White farmers and ordinary citizens are being murdered and raped on their farms and in their homes respectively and these citizens do absolutely nothing about that.

But when a company wants to create business opportunities and jobs in our residential area -- apart from the major conveniemce of not having to travel very far for the local residents for wholesale shopping -- Makro is castigated and "toy-toyed" against. Let me add that I am in no way associated with Makro other than that I shop at their Woodmead branch.

I would much prefer to see that same energy and commitment given to stopping crime in our area! I know that Lonehill is a safe place to live being voted the safest suburb in South Africa last year but the Magaliessig refuses to join the security initiaive in the area. is it going to be a case of "United we stand and United we fall"?

I propose that the thinking and caring citizens of this country start a legal fund to take the likes of Julius Malema and all those other corrupt politicians to Court and to sue them in their own personal capacities to return any tax-payer's money that has been misappropriated.

Brandon Huntley is right, crime is based on race in South Africa

In 2004 this black youth leader Faraday Nkoane said publicly black youths should go and steal from white people because that is not stealing it's repossessing what was stolen from the blacks from the whites since the first settlers arrived.

To me this is just more proof that white South Africans are being prejudiced against. The black people see us as thieves and 'settlers' most of them still refers to us as foreigners even most of us have no claim to belong anywhere else. There are even upstanding black leaders who still show extreme hatred towards white South Africans. For example there is this judge who publicly said he will not shake hands with a white person.

I am not for one minute saying that there is not white people who isn't racist, sure there are a lot of them but I just want for once that the black community will admit they can be racist too. For example this whole xenophobia nonsense where the black South Africans attacked, even killed foreigners who lives here. It was conveniently called xenophobia and not what it really is, racism.

The point is there are many people who think the way Faraday Nkoane think and most whites are to scared to speak up because they do not want to be called racist. Like Brandon Huntley is being called and even Canada is being called racist by the South African government. Do they honestly think that Brandon can ever come back after this? He would be attacked or abused as soon as he sets foot back on South African soil.

Crime Report for Helderberg area

This might not be good news or knew news but my dad gets this Crime Alert thing once a month from Helderberg Crime Watch. We live in Somerset West so this is our local Community Policing. I am going to repeat what the report says.

We are experiencing an increase in robberies, including armed robberies, recently being the attack on a residential home in Runkel Street, Steynrust. The husband and wife was accosted in their house, in the ensuing skirmish the husband was shot twice and survived the attack. The perpetrators fled on foot to a waiting vehicle. Incidents like this are on the increase.

We have also noticed and increase in persons trespassing on premises. Please report these persons. They are the eyes and ears for the future attacks on you and your family or any other soft targets. They could be the 'tip off' source to your house being burgled. If we can eliminate most of the crime. Call the patrol vehicle to report these people or call the patrol vehicle to escort you into your house. Don't fall pray and become a statistic. 'YOU COULD BE NEXT'

Housebreakings have increased. Plasma and LCD TV's, as well as laptops are targeted. These items are sold easily and there is a flourishing market for these goods. Get to know your neighbour. Tell him/her when you will be away from your property for an extended period. Check your alarm and set it at night. Do not act foolish and think it cannot happen to me. Act now and deter crime.

Credit card theft and skimming is also on the increase. Do not let your credit card or debit card out of your sight. It takes a second to Duplicate and you could lose your bank balance.

Helderberg Crime Watch telephone number is 021 852 3118. They are trying to do something about our crime situation. Most of us living in this country cannot leave or does not want to leave. Everything is here, if it was not for the crime it would be paradise on earth, really. I love South Africa I was born in Somerset West actually I am a third generation to have grown up right here in this town. But the crime is increasing at such an alarming rate if I had the chance to live somewhere safer I would move tomorrow.

Kleinmond hit by another armed robbery and murder

My granny used to live in Kleinmond and that was also where I grew up. Kleinmond used to be a beautiful town, one of my favourite places in the world. I always wanted to live there probably because i grew up there and have so many wonderful memories of that place. Lately though the story is different. The place is still beautiful but murders and armed robberies haunt the streets.

Kleinmond is really a retirement village where mostly old people go to live the rest of their lives.

Yesterday a couple was attacked in their home in Kleinmond, the man took his children to school and when he returned he found two armed robbers in his house, a few moments later a fight broke out and he shot the two armed robbers killing them with his licensed firearm.

His wife died shortly after they arrived at the hospital.

A third police officer and a civilian were injured. Both are in a critical condition in hospital.

Jesse Duarte doesnt have a clue

Recently the ANC held debate on twitter, that turned out to be more of a promotion for the ANC since Jesse Duarte who was said to run the debate only answered the easiest questions while during the Q and A her followers nearly doubled.

The ANC lies to people and they will lie to people to get in to positions of power. The ANC knows how to fool people.

Most people that leave the country leave the country because of three things namely:

Work, Crime and the ANC.

Jesse Duarte said "It shows you who leaves the country: all the right-wingers". She said this after hearing that the ANC lost by far when counting overseas votes.

Not only have the ANC put any other party members in a hard spot to find jobs because government jobs are all taken by ANC only members, but they have also made it clear that they have "defeated" the white minority in their own words.

The ANC hates white people, its no wonder they all leave, and then its also no wonder that she would call them "right-wingers" because anyone that does not agree with the ANC is either a right winger or a anti revolutionary, but who other than those that believe they should stick with the ANC because of what Mandela did would vote for the ANC.

It is said that while Mugabe's hooligans had to eat grass because there were no food, they still voted for him because they believe they should stick with the party that got them out from where they were, even though this party has now become a weapon for a dictating maniac.

Personal Safety Measure tips for Soccer World Cup 2010 South Africa

February 25, 2009 by Daizy

I have made this list for those who would still like to come to the world cup even though South Africa's reputation of crime. Firstly do not make the mistake to think safety only starts when you arrive in South Africa. It starts when you pack for the trip. 1. Always double secure your luggage and carry your valuables on your person. Baggage theft is a big problem here at our airports so you can never be to safe. 2. Bring only cashier checks and credit cards. 3. Pack some sort of self defense things for example pepper spray. When you arrive in our country the fun begins. Remember to us as locals most of these things are so normal to us it seems safe but it is not. I have personally not have had any attacks on my safety but I have had many family members who have been robbed and vandalized. 1. Never, ever walk around alone. Always be in a small group of at least 3 adults and more. 2. Plan your days carefully before time. What routes you are going to take and places you want to visit. 3. If you can afford it use a travel agency. They are well trained and would make sure you are not placed in harms way. 4. Do NOT use public transport it is extremely dangerous. Especially trains. They are making a new train for Johannesburg, it would be safer than the current trains. That's if it is completed by 2010. There are plenty of taxi cars which you can call up from your hotel. Stay away from taxi buses they tend to overload and over charge. Plus we have something called taxi wars, taxi owners literally shoot at each other and set cars alight. hopefully you would not encounter that it's mostly in informal settlements that it takes place. 5. If you decide to hire a car and drive around yourself there are certain things you should know. Always tip the car guards, taxi buses are dangerous drivers try to avoid them. When driving in Johannesburg it is very very dangerous especially in night time. Do not stop if you don't have to. 6. Do not carry valuables on your person almost all guesthouses and hotels provide saves. 7. Do not trust any one, that is same all over the world but here it could endanger yourself if you trust people you do not know. mapAnd here is just a tip for those of you who still want to come to South Africa. You can haggle with people selling stuff in stalls but please do not rip them of. They need to make money to survive just like anyone else and if they cannot they will end up being criminals too. We have many safe places to go and see for example we have many safe beaches with security guards etc. There are also many malls and shopping centers. If you are staying for the whole of the World cup you would get to see the whole of South Africa and probably would be to busy seeing things to be scared. I know many would not come here because they are to scared and my husband will call me a traitor for saying this but you should not let fear to put you of. There is so much to see and experience in South Africa it is one of the most difference countries in the world. And above all it would be a trip you would never forget.

How many votes could the ANC of lost

December 21, 2008 by evl

breaking.news.jpg

I was just thinking this morning that if everyone that has left the country because of corruption and crime could vote, there would be thousands if not hundred thousands of extra votes for other parties.

Most people probably left because of the ANC's way of ruling or rather not ruling the country. First there was Mbeki that did not have a clue what was going on and now there is the second half of the ANC with the Zuma crowd and who knows what will happen next year.

If everyone came back that emigrated and moved to other countries we would have a massive chance of breaking this 2/3 majority.

But I know that wont happen. To be honest if I could of emigrated I would of done so long ago.
