Eskom is dom, rising to new heights.... in debt

Eskom have known for years that they cant keep sucking the country dry while making their fat pockets richer by not investing their profits back into upgrading resources for future growth.

Back in 1995 they were warned by experts that has probably by now left the country because of South Africa's racist and white hating BEE and AA programs, where they employ black people that mostly has no experience in what they are doing causing the country thereby to fall further into chaos. They were warned that if they dont upgrade and keep on upgrading the grid or electricity system to put it into simple terms it will overload and do exactly what it did.

They did not plan for growth, they did not expand or upgrade pretty much anything, they ran the ever growing grid (before 1995) until the day (two or three years ago) that it could not handle the capacity that it needs to be at.

So this year they want to rip off the poor citizens of this country even further, not to speak of the already 100% cost they added to some places, they want us to pay their shocking R9.7billion loss of the past year.

Yes you heard it correctly, Eskom lost R9.7billion in the last financial year and they blame it on having to upgrade the grid.

Jacob Zuma: Our nation is in good state - YEAH RIGHT!

This guy must be on some kind of drugs because how can you live in a country like South Africa where even the leaders and those that are supposed to run the country are corrupt. Even when one of his own hooligan drivers killed someone.

How can he say that our nation is in a good state when the ANC ripped 2 million voters from their rights? When there are were a staggering 23 453 children raped, 1 075 murdered and 20 879 assaulted last year alone. (citizen.co.za, Zasucks.com)

How can you call this nation in good state when there is a genocide against farmers, white people are being discriminated against and you steal tax payers money and spend it on making yourself fat.

Well the answer to this is, if you are in the ANC, this is all good news because you are the one that gets to rip everyone off, steal, and cause chaos.

The President of the Republic, Kgalema Motlanthe, reminded us during the State of the Nation address on 6 February that our democracy is solid and that our nation is in a good state. There is a tendency to forget to celebrate the wonderful achievements of the last 15 years.

Jacob Zuma

Let me Translate that

The president of the newly found banana republic and corruption state babysitter Kgalema Motlanthe, reminded us during the State of the Nation on 6 February, that our democracy is screwed up. There is a tendency to forget what wonderful achievements we have reached during the past 15 years.

Namely, we screwed up Eskom and the entire country's electricity. We freed Mugabe and let him reign like a mad drunk dictator. We fired the president, we screwed up the water system, we let all the police be corrupt and give the criminals weapons so they can take it out on non gun bearing citizens.

Dont forget we also made sure that it would be impossible for ordinary law abiding citizens to carry guns. Not criminal, no gun.

One thing we should also not forget is that we have totally fucked up the water supply of the country, that is one step forward to being like some foreign place without water where no one wants to go to.

That last thing I want to mention is that we have successfully chased away 2% of the population of South Africa and dont forget, that's the 2% of the richest and most educated South Africans.

Yes, we call this wonderful progress.

Generators for the 2010 soccer world cup in South Africa

November 26, 2008 by evl

I first thought this was a joke when i read it but it turns out this is no satire, this is real news. Because Eskom is such a failure they might have to use generators to power the 2010 soccer world cup. Seriously, not even talking about the water problem South Africa now faces. Sport24 reports that it will need 3.4million litres of fuel to run those generators. If i have it correct that is a 1/4th of the output of Saudi Arabia for a entire day. That might not sound a lot but it sure is. Not only that, its so pathetic that Eskom the country's only power provider will be used as backup. It wont even be the choice of power and the fuel be for backup, no they doing it wrong, again. This will be interesting Here is something to laugh at:
Dear Electricity Consumer, Just a little note to let you know we understand your anger in the recent price hike and power cuts. But it should be noted that you have no choice. We are a big company and you will pay what we tell you. You have no choice. We have the power, you need the power. So sad, too bad. Sucks to be you. We have enclosed a little picture to help outline our response. Have a nice day and keep those cheques coming, loser! Regards ESKOM

Eskom shuts down Koeberg

November 22, 2008 by evl

Looks like it's that time of year when the electricity will keep going out. Appantly Eskom closed down the Koeberg unit on Saturday. IOL reports:
"It will take two weeks to effect the necessary repairs."

Time to prepare for blackouts

November 14, 2008 by evl

As usual Eskom denies massive blackout in January and February next year but just in case, that time of year its really hot and I can remember last year every hour the fans go stand still and the aircons stop. I guess the only thing on can do is get UPS or solar powered cooling systems. Although because of the storms here in Cape Town and the rest of the country i am not so sure we can really predict what will happen next year and if there will even be a really hot summer.

South africa is falling apart

April 10, 2008 by evl

First of all yesterday we had another load shedding event thanks to the generous Eskom. Eskom also wont say why they want to increase the price on electricity as you can probably read all over the news. The Deputy minister of safety and security said something nice about the criminals of South Africa. Kill them. Telkom still exists and therefore can be added to this list of things happening in South Africa South Africa is now about R800 to the dollar and the dollar is already low Dont forget about going for your license. Yesterday I try to go for my license and when I got to Gordons bay the entire parking lot was parked bumper to bumper, people just want to get their licenses. The queues were so long I just decided to go back another day. Anyway. Rant rant.

South Africa's Eskom keeping up with demand. SO WHAT?

March 22, 2008 by evl

Normally you wont see it in the news when a country's power supplier can keep up with the electricity. But no, not here in South Africa. We hear it in the news when the country CAN keep up with the electricity demand. As if its such a miracle but in fact it is. Just think in what state a country has to be for the electricity "Eskom" supplier to be in the headlines because we have electricity. I almost thought its april fools day when I read the headline in the news ' Eskom 'meeting demands'

Eskom wont keep up this winter. Eskom sucks

March 17, 2008 by evl

Tempratures are plumiting already and winter is still some months away but Eskom cant keep up with the load. Eskom will be loadshedding big time this winter and the country needs to be prepared. This winter can be one of the coldest yet, every year the tempratures go down and there is no end to it. Last year Eskom could barely manage to keep the power on during general cold times in the winter but this time will be something different. But there are a few ways we can prepare for Eskom's many winter failures. Get a chimney and burn some wood. That will keep your warm while there is no electricity. Also use gas for your ovens and stoves but always keep in mind that with these things come other dangers. Anyway enjoy the candle light dinners.
