Coolest low energy house design

March 5, 2009 by Daizy

PLEASE NOTE, IMAGES WILL BE RESTORED SHORTLY

german_designed_eco-house6 german_designed_eco-house5 german_designed_eco-house4 german_designed_eco-house3 german_designed_eco-house2 german_designed_eco-house1 I want one! This house is designed in such a way that you can see the garden or conservatory in some way from each level while still feeling private. The house was designed by Kraus Schonberg Architects and is situated in Germany somewhere. Eco-homes normally don't look this good, ok it kinda looks like a box but the fact that some of the windows are level with the ground and it looks like the inside of the house is sunken in the ground is pretty awesome.

We can clearly see that this country is going the direction of Zimbabwe. I might be wrong but I guess I can give my opinion.

If South Africa is so great, why are you not here

December 23, 2008 by evl

I often speak to people that tell me to stay in South Africa while they are enjoying the richer countries like Europe or Somewhere in America.

They all have the same story, they left South Africa and now they really miss it and then they tell you to stay because its a great country.

If you ask them why they are not here they will give you a few good reasons but the fact is they are still not here. The only advice you really can take from someone living in another country is to emigrate, but you cant take their advice to stay in South Africa because they are not even doing it.

You will see comment from home sick South Africans all over the internet, what a nice country etc we have. Well just like they are not in the country because of some issues the same way you might want to leave the country.

Its nice sitting in a place of safety and security telling people to stay.

Types of Contraception/ Birth control - Condoms for men

December 12, 2008 by Daizy

Condoms - for men condom_manThis is the only valid contraception that men are in charge of. There is Vasectomy and the male version of the pill, but both are extreme measures so I'm not even going to go there. Condoms have been around for years and has always been used as an birth control. But in recent years it has become the only contraception that helps with sexually transmitted diseases. There are plenty of pro's and con's once again I'll start off with the benefits. If it is used right it's almost full proof birth control. It is a safe guard for sexually transmitted diseases such as aids. Plus they could be fun like glow in the dark or strawberry flavor. There is no side effects except maybe if you are allergic to latex but there are non latex condoms out there. condom_cartoonWhat sucks the most of condoms is the fact that it's a damper on the sexual 'rithm' if I could call it that. You have to stop put it on and if its not on right it's useless, then the feeling is just not the same for the woman and for the man there is almost no feeling. Personally I don't like condoms prefer not to use it but I am married and both of us have no STD to worry about. The fact is it is saver to use a condom even if the girl is on birth control, just to be safe. Remember it's not just hookers and rural people that gets STD's. But its not 100%, germs even sperm can find a way through, it's like a seat belt: it helps but doesn't mean you still can't die in a crash.

Dam in Sutherland - Northern Cape

December 4, 2008 by evl

P1010078.JPG

Not entirely sure if Sutherland is in the Northern Cape but this dam is located just outside the town on a very rough gravel or ground road. We discovered it by accident when we went for a road trip while having a holiday in Sutherland and star watching.

It's really dry over there and it might look hot but it gets cold there in fact Sutherland is one of the coldest places in South Africa in winter times.

South Africa faces water crisis and the government hiding it

November 26, 2008 by evl

The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) fired Anthony Turton who made the report about the current water situation in South Africa and got fired. Its weird that if the government is hiding this from the population what else are they hiding. Maybe chemicals in our food? Oh, they are already hiding that, its a fact but the current water situation is a disaster waiting to happen and what is a bigger disaster is this government hiding things from people. Anthony Turton also compared that the current Cholera outbreak in South Africa is just a sneak preview of what might happen in South Africa in the future. Iol also reports that

Raise your voice by blogging

November 24, 2008 by evl

Blogging has changed the way the modern news works, no longer do we have to hope that we are no being lied to by the corporate news media, they are in it for the money after all. Today anyone can be a journalist , although blogs are not always taken that serious it still gives us the oppurtunity to speak out about things close to us, about issues we could in no other way share and solve. Blogging keeps the news open minded and also enables you to see what other people think about certain topics as the news usually just gives facts according to them, bloggers can give their opinion and lets you see how other people feel. Blogging enables all the sides of a news story to show their side of the story, it gives those that can not speak or defend themselves the means of making themselves heard. Blogging lets you see in the mind of those that you might not otherwise speak to and comments on a blog lets you know that what you are thinking is sain or not.

The Democratic Alliance have a new logo and wants to be more Obama

November 17, 2008 by evl

So they chose a new logo but things are not the same as in other countries. In the US one could openly support a certain party, but with the ANC here in South Africa you really cant do the same. The ANC who also has training camps and we still dont know what those are for, is famous for violence over elections time. The last election we clearly seen that. The fact is also that we dont have the proper internet and web savy people that the US has and using the internet in South Africa might just not be that effective as it is in the US. Changing their logo and getting a new look might be worth something but personally i dont like the new look, especially since the sunrise over the valley is also a free mason sign.

The run up to the South African elections gets more interesting

October 29, 2008 by evl

So we see that more people have left the ANC today and it looks like even more will leave it in the days coming before the South Africa general elections in 2009. This is not a surprise because about half the ANC was in fact Mbeki supporters. Especially those people that sat around doing nothing but spending the tax payers money.

The violence factor is also picking up a bit and you can now clearly see that there will come some serious scuffles in this election.

Interesting as most people outside South Africa see that this is a time to stay out of here. At least according to the people I have spoken to.
