Almost summer. Tonight's sunset was brilliant. Just sucks that I could not get many photos.
Here you can see a massive wave rolling towards Harbour Island over the weekend.
The waves was massive and the weather was also nice. There was a lot of surfers while in the Strand people was fishing like there was some school of tuna or something. I dont know much about fishing as you can guess.
Did I mention this is a photography blog as well. Well only photos of South Africa and that has to do with travel. Here you can see a clock tower in Strand area.
The strand is around 50km from Cape Town and is a small town that originally started as a fishing village who knows when. The Strand and Helderberg is one of the most well known places for South Africans to have their holiday.
The other day or rather a few weeks ago we went to Hangklip for some fishing. Now I cant fish. So after a few mintues I realized how beautiful Hangklip is and how nice it is to take photos there. The sky is so bright and the place is so natural. No cars, humans and the daily noise of city life.
Hangklip is a nice place for a day out. Whether you like the sea or not. Its a drive from the city life and gives you a break.
If you are not into fishing and all that stuff you might wanna grab those goggles and head down to bikini beach in Gordons Bay this summer. On some days the water is so clear you can see everything. Even when going deeper into the water you can still see clearly. A few years ago we were swimming and I had some goggles on. A shark swam passed us, well it was about 10 meters away but if the water was dirty we would not of seen it.
Its amazing some days when you sit on your surfboard, especially in the Strand you can see schools of fish swimming right under your surfboard, and the occasional dolphin and shark.
In recent years shark activity has increased here in False Bay , some say its because of the cage divers that feed the sharks while other people blame it on global warming and not enough food in the sea.
