Kleinmond camping site

January 6, 2009 by evl

This is Kleinmond Camping site. Kleinmond is a small town in the Overberg about 30km from Hermanus. This camping site rocks, we stayed there once and it was empty, we were braaiing and in the middle of the night something came and ate the food and ripped the tent apart. Sounded like a tiger or mountain lion. Still not sure till today. kleinmond-camping-site.kml kleinmond camping site

Canoe or Kayak camping

December 24, 2008 by evl

Canoe or Kayak camping might be one of the most adventures things to do on a december holiday. What it basically is, its packing your canoe or kayak with what you need to camp going down the river and camping as you go down. Now this might not be possible for those extreme kayakers but it sure if fun if you are not that much into the rough waters. The reason I am saying this is because your camping gear will most probably slow you down and you wont be able to take on the real big falls with all that weight. There are basically three things you need to pack in for such a trip. Food Clothing Shelter and dont forget the medical kit as well. I will explain more about this later. Just wanted to get the topic started so I can refer back to it.

Cholera is out of control in South Africa

December 23, 2008 by evl

So Zimbabwe has totally failed already. No clean drinking water and no food, people eating even the buried insects they manage to bring to the surface while scratching through the sand.

Where a bread is something you buy on the blackmarket. The entire world has failed the people of Zimbabwe and the worst of offenders is South Africa and Mbeki for giving the support to Mugabe he needed while he was supposed to moderate talks.

Thousands of people have crossed the rivers of South Africa, coming from Zimbabwe they flow over the borders and through the river for safety. Not all come here for safety, as you probably know the Cholera crises is now real bad in South Africa as well. Almost 900 people in Limpopo have the disease and cholera has also spread to Vhembe, Pietersburg and Louis Trichardt.

Slaughter of dolphins most gruesome Rite of passage

December 21, 2008 by Daizy

In the Faroe Islands they have an annual passage right ritual of slaughtering of dolphins. I am really trying to understand the killing of these gentle creatures in this way. I was horrified when I saw these pictures. Anyone who know me I'm not a tree hugger and don't normally get particularly upset in the killing of animals for food or fur. But this is different it's horrifying to see the sea turned red with blood. They drive the helpless dolphins into a cove with boats then they kill them. This method is also used in other countries such as Japan. Which is worse there it's done not in tradition but greed. The reason this tradition is not stopped is because it's part of

Cool clip of dog saving other run over dog

December 5, 2008 by Daizy

I can't figure out what this dog is doing. Is he trying to drag his buddy to safety or does he think it's food. Can't be sure because of the truck blocking our view. I prefer he is helping his buddy though :)

South Africa faces water crisis and the government hiding it

November 26, 2008 by evl

The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) fired Anthony Turton who made the report about the current water situation in South Africa and got fired. Its weird that if the government is hiding this from the population what else are they hiding. Maybe chemicals in our food? Oh, they are already hiding that, its a fact but the current water situation is a disaster waiting to happen and what is a bigger disaster is this government hiding things from people. Anthony Turton also compared that the current Cholera outbreak in South Africa is just a sneak preview of what might happen in South Africa in the future. Iol also reports that

Melamine found in South Africa's food but they wont tell you what food it is

October 24, 2008 by evl

The SABC tested some foods and found that one of them contained the chemical Melamine which has been causing chaos across China, now they wont say who it is until they have spoken to the company involved.

How messed up is that, your child or your family could be taking in Melamine without knowing because they dont want to tell us.

according to Fin24:

Tests were conducted in a Cape Town laboratory on various sweets, chocolates and cereal.

Earlier this year, the presence of melamine in Chinese-manufactured dairy products was blamed for a number of infant deaths and illness.

Melamine is not a food chemical but a industrial chemical used to make glues and other toxic things and these people added it to food (in China) to boost the protein content, so next time you read Protein on the pack remember this post.
