Chuene the man who sacrificed Caster Semenya for gold

Chuene can say what he wants I do not for one minute believe that his choices in Semenya's case was in her best interest. This man screams arrogant idiot to me. Normally I am very mild mannered but he does not even try to appear sorry for what he has done to Semenya, he just blames the whole world and takes no responsibility for how things was handled.

Athletics South Africa (ASA) president Leonard Chuene has said he is sorry he was caught lying about the facts about Semenya and that he was aware of the test that was conducted on her. Why I say he is sorry he was caught is because first he apologizes then in the next breath he gives the blame to someone else and say he is not sorry for sending Semenya to the Championships in Berlin even though being warned she should be withdrawn. Listen to this:

Chuene also said that Adams, who traveled with Semenya to Berlin, should have advised the athlete to withdraw herself from the championships

So what Semenya should have withdrawn? Is he seriously trying to blame an 18 year old! And the bull he is spouting that the word of their doctor is not enough. That he made the choice in the best interest of the athlete. What utter hog wash, he did this to make his department look good, he did this to boost his career. To be honest though I doubt that he had any idea that it would turn out the way it did. I think honestly he did not even believe there was such a medical condition.

I am disgusted with how the ASA has handled the whole thing but I am even more disgusted that they still show no remorse. Even after they have given a girl her dream to have it rudely taken away. How they could not have discussed this with her before hand is beyond me. And after all is said and done Chuene still blusters on about how he won't accept IAAF findings because they did not follow 'protocol' yeah right as I said: what an idiot.

Caster Semenya won gold in the women's 800 meters at the World Athletics Championships gender question

There is no doubt in the physical fact the Caster Semenya is a woman. They have phrased the whole thing wrong. If it was just a fact of her gender they could just do an scan to check if she has all the right 'parts'. The whole investigation is into her biological composition.

Let me explain, woman are identified by the their chromosomes in the athletic world. Female chromosomes are naturally XX while male is XY. What they are questioning is if she is born with XXY chromosomes which would make her a hermaphrodite. This means her muscle build would be more male than female. According to the IAAF and scientist that this would give her a major advantage to other competitors. caster_semenya_wins

But to me that is not gender fraud it's just a quirk of nature. So what if it gives her some advantage? She has trained most of her life to get into the physical conditions she is in. It's not like she would be able to compete with the men. So what do they expect? That this strong girl should give up all she has worked for and dream of and not compete? I do not see the point in doing this. In the long run it would only harm her if they found that her chromosomes is different. To label her as a man because of a chromosome difference is just cruel and insensitive.

Caster's father pleaded for people to leave his daughter alone. Jacob Semenya said: 'She is my little girl. I have never doubted her gender. She is a woman, and I can repeat that a million times.' dailymail.co.uk

This will not break Caster Semenya she has so many supporters standing by her. Caster earned her gold medal. I found the video of her race on youtube and I can see why some would think something is up because the huge lead she had on the rest of them.

The 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa mascot, Zakumi

October 5, 2008 by clyde

So last night the new SA mascot called Zakumi was unveiled in a badly lit TV broadcast. [caption id="attachment_14776"; align="alignright" width="283" caption="ZAkumi - The South African 2010 Mascot"]ZAkumi - The South African 2010 Mascot[/caption] 2010 World Cup Soccer hosted in South Africa brings the worlds eyes to South Africa once again, but at least this time its in the view of a 14 year old kid inside a Leopard Suit, called Zakumi, the new face of 2010 South Africa. The mascot entered through a beaded curtain Monday in Johannesburg. But what the heck does that mean? Well the first two letters of Zakumi are the country's initials in Afrikaans (one of South Africa's 11 official languages) and "Kumi" means 10 in many African languages representing the year of the tournament. Tim Modise, spokesman for the South African organizing committee, said zakumi can also be understood as "come here" in southern African languages. SO WHATS THE BIG DEAL? Zakumi was created by Cape Town-based artist Andries Odendaal. The predominantly gold colours - subtly incorporated with green and white, with the letters "South Africa 2010" across his chest apparently represent the country's wealth and hopes for 2010 and the prickly dreadlocks are meant to give him the edge over his fellow cats. [caption id="attachment_14777"; align="alignleft" width="307" caption="Zakumi bouncing around on the badly lit sound stage for the camera."][/caption] Zakumi's costume was produced by Cora Simpson who produced Simba the Lion and Dazzler, the official Mascot for the 2003 Cricket World Cup. Zakumi also joined the ranks of SA's born-free generation as he was accorded with the birth date of June 16 1994, meaning he will turn 16 in 2010.

You're doing it wrong: How the USA think they won the Olympics

August 23, 2008 by evl

olympics - Google Search If you know anything about the Olympics you'll know that its the Gold medals that count. But strangely the USA does not think so. So far if you read most tables or graphs showing medals they all, or most of them puts the USA on the top for the number of medals won. But this is not how it works, they should instead show how many Gold medals each country has won and not the total medals, because ultimately its the country with the most Gold medals that leads the way in the Olympics.

The Ultimate Survival Kit. Part 1 Money.

May 27, 2008 by evl

Money With recent events in Zimbabwe we learn that money really cant always help when disaster strikes a country. But what we can learn is that money could still be usefull. What could be more usefull is gold. Having a bit of gold could help you more than money, especially when money becomes worth nothing. Its good to have money in your survival kit but its important not to put your life savings in your survival kit althought it might not always be that bad idea depending on where you live. A great way to have money available at all times is to have off shore bank accounts where they have a stable currency. That way you can still have money even though a country's economy collapses entirely.
