Gordons Bay in Helderberg, Cape Town. Gordons Bay is a well known holiday and accommodation town with one of the best places to view the sunset in the world. In this photo is harbour island in the middle, you can also see Strand buildings in the distance.

We are bloggers. That is our entire family blogs, we are full time bloggers and we have nothing else to do. Jobs sucks here in South Africa and who wants to work 8-5 for some jackass that probably wont give you what you are really worth.

Now being full time bloggers gives us the opportunity to travel. That is when we have the money to travel.

Recently we saw a plot we would like to buy in the Karoo and it’s about 750km from Cape Town, where we are if you follow the photos on this blog. So we decided we need a holiday, actually we needed a holiday and then we saw the house. So we packed our bags and started driving.

Actually it wasnt that simple. We discussed when we are going to go etc. But the Tuesday of the 23 June 2008 I decided we are driving and we are driving now. So we left at about 11pm the place in the middle of no where, where we want to get the plot.

So this is how the journey starts. Further on I will just refer to this as the road trip.

The road trip was from Cape Town to Johannesburg right back to Cape Town again. Now that might not sound that far but I am going to explain to you the road trip in the next few posts.

I have been living here most of my life but i dont know what this beach is called. Its Gordons Bay’s main beach, close to all the shop and also close to Harbour Island. This beach is usually not so busy except for summer holidays when the people from all over come and fill up the shops and accommodation in Helderberg. Then there is no parking.

Anyway this photograph was taken at high water when the beach was entirely covered in water.

Club Mykonos sits just outside Langebaan in the West Coast. Club Mykonos is the perfect getaway from the City life and busy work life. Being just 1 and 1/2 hours away from Cape Town by car its a quick escape from the outside world. Langebaan itself is a great place for a holiday. Club Mykonos used to be a holiday place in its entire but now people have actually bought some of the places and now live there.

Club Mykonos is great all year around but especially in Summer times when its also the fullest time of the year. Booking in advance is a must for anyone that want to stay there for a weekend or a week.

Club Mykonos also has some activities but most people just go gamble in the casinos inside Club Mykonos.

This was taken a while ago when we were in Matjiesfontein staying in the Lord Milner Hotel. They let us on the roof to see a spectacular view of the place. One of the best holidays I’ve had.
