This might not be such a interesting topic but I used to think you can just go in and work on your blog with any computer or operating system. That was until my computer totally crashed and now I can only run my computer from a Ubuntu 7.04 live cd.
The computer you are blogging with does have a effect on your everyday blogging. Having all the tools in front of you when you need them can be great for your blog.
Here is a example: Since my computer has been broken I can not read rss feeds from blogs or blogging friends of mine. I have to go to every individual blog to read their blogs and skip the rss reading part of it.
Because I still have gimp I can resize my pictures for posting them on my blog but there are other limitations such as not being able to install deepest sender and quickly make a blog post.
Deepest sender and my other firefox extensions like stumbleupon which is a great part of my blogging for getting inspiration. Also learning from what other people have to say or what other stumblers like when it comes to blogging.
Another thing is not being able to keep your cookies and logins. That means everytime I want to quickly loging somewhere after I have restarted my computer I have to remember every username and password I have. And for security reasons they are all different.
Then it comes to uploads and downloads. I cant upload anything because I have a upload folder on my computer but everytime I have to restart I lose my folder.
So it comes down to I need a new computer. I could work with a livecd for a long time but for productivity and blogging reasons I need a new computer.
Reload Every is a firefox plugin that lets you reload your tab every few seconds or minutes.
So installing Reload every you will then get a added thingy in your right click menu, when you click on it, it gives you options to reload your browser every when so ever you want.
Check it out here

My firefox used to crash and freeze all the time. I could not work for 10 minutes without it freezing or crashing. So when I got a new laptop I got Vista on it preinstalled. Being to lazy to install Ubuntu I started using this Vista stuff that everyone was bitching about. The weird thing is I find it quite brilliant. As soon as you switch off the theme Vista works like a dream.
The Firefox issue i was having is gone now. Strange but true. Even when I was using no plugins in Firefox with ubuntu it used to crash and freeze. What exactly it is I dont now but its fixed now. Vista makes it work.
You can rant in the comments about how much you hate vista. I would be able to read them now that Firefox is actually working .
EA Maxis PC the sim people will soon make a update to the license of Spore to relax the 3 installs of the game.
There was no timeframe given so no one will know how long they have to make those ones last. Especially since it runs on windows. Considering I used to install Windows 3 times a month when i used it there will soon be hordes of weird creatures striking outside the offices of EA.
There is a full blown internet rage and myspace kindergarden kamikaze entourage where the complete spore fan cyberspace grab their nuts and wanted spore to be burn at the stake.
Whatever, i am just saying spore will soon relax, so relax mmkay?
Oh by the way, i also heard that Spore is the most pirated game ever.
I have read so many bad things about Spore and their draconian DRM. Also you can only install the game three times and then its finished. That has to be the worst license for a game i have ever read.
Most people or as of now has given the game a one star rating. 2133 to be exact. After the so called convenient glitch Amazon claims it was not deleted but many people claim to still have issues and their reviews are missing.
This is has got to be one of the worst scenarios for the game designers but they really had to think before doing something like this.
Spore seems to be great game, until you buy it.
