I can understand how they won so many awards. Wow this really looks like a beautiful movie. It has everything Romance, drama, action, suspense, mystery even comedy. I cannot wait to see it for myself. I have always been a foreign film fan but this is so different from anything that has been done before, even the trailer makes me smile.
Official trailer
The movie is about a orphan boy, Jamal Malik, who grows up in the slums of Mumbai. At eighteen he got the opportunity to take part in India's 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire?' and win 20 million rupees. But when before he could answer the last question the police comes and arrest him in suspicion of cheating.
Everyone was confused how could a boy with no education get so far in the game. So he tells the police his whole life story and how he knew the answers. The only part that confused them was that he was not interested in winning the money and was curious to why he took part. Which will only be revealed when he answers the last question.
Ok that is a very ruff summary of the movie because I really don't want to say more and maybe spoil it for someone. I have unfortunately already had read a couple of spoilers and know how it feels.
I found this video clip made by Addictive TV. It is very well done and fun to watch. They compiled scenes from the movie to make a very unusual trailer.
The film won a Golden Globe for best film and I believe is nominated for a couple of other awards. Not sure but I am so glad to see for once a non American movie being so popular.
Newsvine
Newsvine is like a news community where you can vote on news and share news. Its basically as I said a news community. This is worth checking out although if you are not living in the US you might not enjoy it that much since it mostly focussed on US stories.
Twitter
Twitter can be a great source to find breaking news. Oddly most people that have breaking news usually use the words "breaking news"
For instance doing a search on search.twitter.com and searching for "breaking news" will give you many results and mostly when bloggers and tweeters break the news, it's before the news channels and papers.
Addict-o-matic (addictomatic.com)
This is a different type of way to find the news. This will not really show you all the breaking news from random topics but will enable you to find news about a specific topic. By choosing your sources and typing in your wanted word you want news for it enables you to find news or articles from various places.
Although you can find breaking news here about a topic you might also find things that are a bit older.

That's strange. I would not of thought that most bloggers would be from Cape Town that blog and live in South Africa. My guess would of been Johannesburg. According to "Sake 24" something like 88% come from Cape Town.
I guess its called the laid back city for a reason but this is also the silicon valley of South Africa.
Cape Town as far as I know also has the best internet connections and most people that live here are not obsessed with work. At least the ones that I know.
Interesting.
I first thought this was a joke when i read it but it turns out this is no satire, this is real news. Because Eskom is such a failure they might have to use generators to power the 2010 soccer world cup. Seriously, not even talking about the water problem South Africa now faces. Sport24 reports that it will need 3.4million litres of fuel to run those generators. If i have it correct that is a 1/4th of the output of Saudi Arabia for a entire day. That might not sound a lot but it sure is.
Not only that, its so pathetic that Eskom the country's only power provider will be used as backup. It wont even be the choice of power and the fuel be for backup, no they doing it wrong, again.
This will be interesting
Here is something to laugh at:
Dear Electricity Consumer, Just a little note to let you know we understand your anger in the recent price hike and power cuts. But it should be noted that you have no choice. We are a big company and you will pay what we tell you. You have no choice. We have the power, you need the power. So sad, too bad. Sucks to be you. We have enclosed a little picture to help outline our response. Have a nice day and keep those cheques coming, loser! Regards ESKOM
So we see that more people have left the ANC today and it looks like even more will leave it in the days coming before the South Africa general elections in 2009. This is not a surprise because about half the ANC was in fact Mbeki supporters. Especially those people that sat around doing nothing but spending the tax payers money.
The violence factor is also picking up a bit and you can now clearly see that there will come some serious scuffles in this election.
Interesting as most people outside South Africa see that this is a time to stay out of here. At least according to the people I have spoken to.
Dailyblogtips has a interesting competition going, you can win some really great prices and get some exposure to your blog. I would of joined but with all the random crap we post I think its better to pass it on to others so they can have the opportunity as well. Dailyblogtips is one of my favourite blogs and you wont be sorry to give it a visit, check out the competition
