The ANC's plan for creating jobs

March 2, 2009 by evl

The ANC released their plans today for creating jobs. It reads as this:
Over the last 15 years we have achieved significant levels of sustained economic growth. We have managed to progressively increase the rate at which jobs have been created. But despite our progress, we still face massive unemployment and widespread poverty. We need to continue to grow the economy, and make sure that the benefits of growth are shared among all South Africans. That is why the ANC has developed a clear and achievable plan that will grow the economy over the next five years and create more decent jobs. This plan includes: * a massive public investment programme, expanding and improving rail networks, public transport, port operations, dams, housing, telecommunications and energy generation; * an expanded public works programme linked to the infrastructure programme and meeting social needs with home-based case, cr

ID to bring back scorpions among other things

January 19, 2009 by evl

The Independent democrats said they will also bring back the scorpions. I wonder where they got that idea from. I bet you all the other parties might bring it back as well. Except off course for the ANC. Nope, you can be sure they wont bring back the scorpions.

The Independent Democrats national election manifesto will among others focus on the re-introduction of the Scorpions, restoring the public's faith in the police and addressing social ills, party leader Patricia Delille said on Sunday.

Would you drive a taxi in South Africa?

December 10, 2008 by evl

So the gov ee ment wants to make a public transport system of some kind. I really have no idea and couldnt care less because I wont use it anyway.

My thoughts are just that these taxi drivers was all over the news since it has to do with the 2010 world cup.

Now if I was from another country I would in no way drive a South African taxi after seeing that news all over.

Imagine being used to the tubes in London and now you planning to come to South Africa and check this stuff out on the news. I'd be like - staying home for the 2010 world cup.

Small-town Afrikaners take mayor to court over bulldozing of plaque

Afrikaners from a small town in Mpumalanga have resumed the court fight with their mayor over the bulldozing of a Great Trek monument, which landed on a rubbish dump.

The Standerton Action Committee was in the Pretoria High Court this week again to demand that mayor Queen Radebe-Khumalo restore the commemorative plaque that was broken in 27 pieces after being ripped out of the road the Voortrekkers are believed to have travelled on on their journey north.

In court papers, residents claim that Radebe-Khumalo had no permission from the council to remove the plaque from its position in front of the town hall, but instructed the driver of a front-end loader to rip it up in the middle of the night when no one was watching.

But in responding documents, Radebe-Khumalo, who residents accuse of behaving

Total Chaos in South Africa as armed robbers shoot a innocent farmer.

August 9, 2008 by evl

Yes, South Africa is the land of the free, the free criminals that is. While the government sits with their fat asses and decides who's the next president and what they can screw up next the robbers take their loot.

A 55 year old Potgietersrus farmer was shot because he was on a public road.

Piet de la Rey was hit twice by shots fired from a car of armed robbers, who had tried to blow up a Fidelity Security Services armoured vehicle transporting cash to Kimberley. The incident happened about 20km from Petrusberg and led to a traffic standstill for several kilometres. The road was closed by emergency personnel for most of the day and traffic was re-routed.

Now that's some messed up stuff.
