Mancow Muller of Chicago's Big 89 test waterboarding live on radio - video

I have heard about the Water boarding controversy many times never actually understanding what is the fuss. Thinking that hay it can't be that bad, right? Just like Mancow thought it was not a big deal. Watch the video and you will see how bad it was for him.

There are some comments on youtube like what is this suppose to achieve like anti Americanism. Well if they actually concentrated they would notice that Mancow wanted to prove that water boarding is NOT torture but in the process proved the opposite.

Contact from space, something is sending signals to earth.

August 16, 2008 by evl

I am not sure if someone got stuck on the moon or maybe a experiment gone gone wrong but the South African Signal waiters or whatever they are called have received signals from space. It came from the middle of the milky way.

Actually the discovery was made by Indlebe Radio Telescope at Durban's techonology universitey.

Apparently it was quite a strong signal and the exact location it came from is the Sagittarius A, centre of the milky way galaxy.

Scientists in South Africa have detected radio signals from beyond the solar system for the first time

Hottentots Holland or Helderberg Mountains signal station.

July 23, 2008 by evl

The Hottentots Holland or Helderberg Mountains is where this signal station is located. Its been there for years and was probably used for SABC or radio stations. The fact that this station is here shows that this mountain has the best views and is worth a climb or walk up the road. Althought the road leading to the Signal station is closed you can still walk up the mountain to get the best views of Cape Town, Helderberg and whatever is on the other side.

Get traffic for your blog by advertising

December 6, 2007 by evl

369.png Advertising seems like a dumb idea sometimes but in fact it's not. How will people know about your great content if you dont advertise it? You have to advertise your blog sometimes. Now not all blogs can be advertised but most of them can. Lets say for instance you have a blog about cars and you need to make some money. Why not advertise in a local newspaper for advertisers. Not only will you get advertisers but you might get lots of traffic with that. Advertise your blogs on free message boards. In our town there is a lot of free message boards you can stick small advertising on. Why not use that stick your blog address on there with a a few words. Get your own tshirt or cap. Printing on your clothes is not that hard. You can promote your blog by wearing the Url as well. You might not get thousands but some people do notice Urls that are written at weird places. Stick it on your car, print it on your trousers. Another thing you can do is advertise on radio. Especially here where I live people listen to the radio every morning. From young people to old people. Everybody listens to the radio. Now in your town it might not be like that but if it is, use the opportunity to advertise on the radio if it's not to expensive. I have more tips where to advertise your blog but I will post them on the next post. Where do you advertise your blog?

How to create a relaxing environment

December 2, 2007 by evl

If you want to reduce stress at home our at your workplace there are a couple things you could do. De clutter & Organize Start by looking at your surroundings. Take a black bag for rubbish and a box for things you do not use and a box for things you use everyday or at least often. Then remove it so that only the furniture is left. Spring clean After everything is out, then you clean from top to bottom making sure everything is dust free. It is important that a place were you spend a lot of time. Remember that once it is clean properly that it should be kept that way take time each day to tidy up 15 min should do depend on size of room. Decorate One of the most important thing of a room is the colours used. Greens and Light blues are calming colours were yellows and reds agitate and excite the brain. Neutral colours also work realy wel then you can bring in colour with accessories. When your colour scheme is done you can bring the box out with things you use regularly and put them neatly away and remember it should be organized so it's easy to maintain. Right lighting This is something a lot of people take for granted. If you work a lot on a computer it is especially important to have good lighting. When a person strains their eyes it can cause headache's and stress. There must be plenty of natural light use light curtains of blinds. And for artificial lighting the worst thing that you could put in is flourecent lighting. It doesn't give a constant light and is really harsh on the eye. So I would suggest that you should have an desk lamp or lamps around the room. Noise A big factor in stress today is that its almost never quiet. There are always somewhere some type of noise. To help with this you could get sound proof windows but that is expensive so I would suggest curtains thats really thick. Try and listen to calming music don't just leave the radio on so that anything and everything attack your hearing sense. Put on your favourite music or some classical that always works. But the best is to have complete silence for at least an hour a day. Water Get a water feature or even a fish tank they are very relaxing features in any space. They do not necessarily mean hard work you should be surprised on the things you would find that basically takes care of itself. And remember the noise pollution bit well the sound of water flowing balances that out nicely. Plants This might be something you would not like to hear but plants is like natures antidepressants. The give oxygen they filter sound and when a person looks at the colour green it calms your mind plus it makes the air fresh. I'm not saying you should grow a forest in your office. One or two pretty pot plants would do I would suggest palm like plants because they are easy to maintain. This can be achieved in a day if it is planned right.

Disconnect

December 2, 2007 by evl

A great way to relax is to disconnect from the world outside. Put your phone off, plug the computer out, close the curtains and shut yourself off from the world to relax a bit. Sometimes this is not possible with children, so you and your partner need to take turns. Let him/her take a bath or spend a bit of time on his/her own. Then later on you take a break and read a book while relaxing. Put off the radio as well. Silence is sometimes feared but much needed for a healthy and relaxed environment.
