Its been a really long winter, probably the longest Cape Town winter I can remember. Although they seem to have the cold in Johannesburg now.

Last year this time it was a bit hotter than this. They say its the worst rain we've had in 50 years here in Helderberg. Just last week we still had snow on the mountains.
Real bad weather. Its raining cannon balls.

Today here in Helderberg it seems like the middle of winter, all of a sudden it's raining and its so strange this is the time of year when there used to be lines of cars going to the beach, Helderberg
Rain at last!

Submitted by evl on Mon, 2007-08-27 17:54There have been a drought in Helderberg for the past 7 years and finally it's come to an end. It's been raining so well this year, almost all the time. It's a terrible thing for my 2 year old and really annoying to get my washing done but i love it. The whole area has come to life again. We had allot of fires during the drought and the mountains was struggling to recuperate but i can see the green shine from far and it's just breathtaking.
