4 things that annoy me as a blogger

Rss feeds

I hate it when people use my rss feed. Seriously, you want to read my stuff then come to my site. I cant stand it when sites and bloggers tell how many Rss subscribers they have. I bet you not even 1% of people that are subscribed to a site actually come and visit the site.

Although I hate it when people read my rss feed on a reader I still like reading other sites on readers. I know, my right to be annoying.

Leaving url in comment

Sometimes I am amazed at people. The comment section clearly states url. Now that means you dont have to repeat your url in the actual comment, it saves you time and effort. But no, you get these annoying people that fill in a comment and then put their urls under what they've written. Maybe someone should make a comment how-to to explain how the thing works.

Telling people where you've not been before

I have done exactly this for some time until I realized how stupid I must of sound to those that really has been there and know what they are talking about. Although I now have the experience, i also blogged about how to make money before I actually made money.

its like fooling people into believing you make money to make money from them.

Link exchange

I get these really annoying emails asking for link exchange. Here's a tip. Link your one page to your other page. There you have a link. Happy now?

Imagine the reader

October 29, 2008 by evl

As a blog author I just cant seem to imagine the reader, that is why I stick with organic traffic most of the time. Going for the reader in mind you need to imagine how other people think and to me that is sometimes weird because everyone thinks different and having one reader in your mind will out focus for another reader.

Why the blogging niche sucked when I started blogging

October 29, 2008 by evl

I could not think of another title. But the fact is that the blogging niche still sucks today. Yes, i know not everyone sucks, especially some of the sites I visit regularly but what I am talking about is in general. If you look closely and you join most sites that blog about making money or blogging you will notice that when something goes hot, everyone blogs about it.

Make your blog or site faster and better by asking yourself these questions

October 29, 2008 by evl

My site has been loading really slow before I fixed it up and if you were here you might of noticed that I had many things on my site slowing it down and I asked myself these question.

Is it providing my readers anything useful

If you have something on your site that is not serving ANY purpose and trust me those do get around. You really should remove it. Not only will it make your site load faster but your readers will have less things to distract them.

Is it making me enough money

If you are planning on making a living on the internet and depend on your income from your blog you really should monitor ads on your site. For instance I am trying project wonderful but if its not working for me I will remove it. But leaving something on your blog that COULD make you money is really not useful, if you are not making money from it at the moment, remove it and put it back when you WILL make money from it.

Does it make my site look ugly

Design and layout is everything to a blog, I believe layout and design is one of the most important aspects of your blog and if something is making your site look ugly you should check if you cant replace it. I have seen some very nice sites but with a flashing thing that just totally distracts you. In fact I think I have one on here right now that I am about to remove. Although it makes me money its better to still remove it for the sake of people reading the blog.

So there are three short tips to make your site faster and better.

Changing the course of this blog

October 28, 2008 by evl

I also thought about blogging about online tips and such, but I have never wanted to blog about these things until I was at a place where I could give prove, many people still dont believe that you can make a living by blogging but it is possible. So i would like to change the focus from general stuff to blogging, wordpress and more online things. I know I have blogged about this earlier as well but did not exactly know how to change the course of this blog in a quick way.

Taking over more than one niche was my goal but you have to blog about what you want and what you like because if you dont you will lose focus and your blog will become another statistic.

Anyway the point is I can now blog about the things I love, which is blogging tips , Making a living on the internet and online marketing. Also dont forgot those Worpdress which has become my cms of choice for working with any site.

Please join my rss feed. ( Oh by the way wprecipes did a post about how to put your "subscribe" text at end of every post, you can read it here.

I am going to put that on a bit later but adding rss to every page is the first step to getting those readers to subscribe.

Feedburner and the Search engine optimization

October 28, 2008 by evl

I have always used search engine optimization as means of getting traffic to a site but recently i found a interesting article that dealt with feedburner etc. So i head of to feedburner to check out if I have any subscribers and alas, less than 100 subscribers. So i thought for a site that gets more than 50k visitors a month I really need to up my rss subscribers, because if you have no subscribers you have not well... Subscribers.

September 30, 2008 by evl

In a world with constant information and anything you want right in front of you, you need ways to keep your readers coming back to your blog. So what if you suddenly have nothing to write about? It has happened to me that I go for days with no ideas what to write about and sometimes its scary. Because if i don
