If South Africa is so great, why are you not here

December 23, 2008 by evl

I often speak to people that tell me to stay in South Africa while they are enjoying the richer countries like Europe or Somewhere in America.

They all have the same story, they left South Africa and now they really miss it and then they tell you to stay because its a great country.

If you ask them why they are not here they will give you a few good reasons but the fact is they are still not here. The only advice you really can take from someone living in another country is to emigrate, but you cant take their advice to stay in South Africa because they are not even doing it.

You will see comment from home sick South Africans all over the internet, what a nice country etc we have. Well just like they are not in the country because of some issues the same way you might want to leave the country.

Its nice sitting in a place of safety and security telling people to stay.

Where to watch and find breaking news online - For news junkies

December 18, 2008 by evl

I am a real news junkie. I dont know why but its like an addiction. I want to know things before the rest of the world knows them Also running a blog I can blog about things before others blog about it. Its just plain addictive. So here are a few places to get stuck on looking for breaking news. Some you know, some you might not. Some are obvious. Lets explore: Google News Google News is probably a crowd favorite and I can understand why. Instead of just showing one news source it shows the collective topic all the news sites are talking about. So instead of just finding one breaking news story, you'll find that breaking news story showing all the sites that write about it. One thing worth it is to customize your news on Google News. Personally I dont like sport so i removed it. screen-capture.png Newsvine Newsvine is like a news community where you can vote on news and share news. Its basically as I said a news community. This is worth checking out although if you are not living in the US you might not enjoy it that much since it mostly focussed on US stories. screen-capture-1.png Twitter Twitter can be a great source to find breaking news. Oddly most people that have breaking news usually use the words "breaking news" For instance doing a search on search.twitter.com and searching for "breaking news" will give you many results and mostly when bloggers and tweeters break the news, it's before the news channels and papers. screen-capture-2.png Addict-o-matic (addictomatic.com) This is a different type of way to find the news. This will not really show you all the breaking news from random topics but will enable you to find news about a specific topic. By choosing your sources and typing in your wanted word you want news for it enables you to find news or articles from various places. Although you can find breaking news here about a topic you might also find things that are a bit older. screen-capture-3.pngscreen-capture-4.png screen-capture-5.png screen-capture-6.png

Law and disorder in Johannesburg - Documentary by Louis Theroux

December 10, 2008 by evl

I found this while browsing. Louis Theroux - Law and Disorder in Johannesburg is a documentary about crime in Johannesburg. Taken by the BBC its the story of the real Johannesburg. A place that once was a clean and growing city, a place that was once a 1st class city has become one of the darkest holes in South Africa

There are no anti black training camps, only anti white training camps - South Africa

December 10, 2008 by evl

So all the newspapers were wrong and today they had to fix their stories. The story about the boy that got abducted and given guns and learned how to blow up stuff was a fake. There is a camp that trains boys and men but its totally legal, unlike the ANC training camps where they train to kill the farmers and boers.

I still dont see the major newspapers turning their story they told, its a absolute lie. On another note, no one got arrested when they found the ANC training camp up in the North of South Africa and not just that, there are many more camps like that and nothing is dont about them.

Now you can call me a conspiracy theorist but this government is anti-white

I love tiny houses

These small houses would make a great deal for South Africa, here property is expensive and houses are impossible to get if you dont make enough money to feed a farm.

There is a story behind these small houses that you can read at tinyhousedesign. There is even a yahoo group about small houses called the Tiny House Society. This should be the way of the future. I like these houses.

Raise your voice by blogging

November 24, 2008 by evl

Blogging has changed the way the modern news works, no longer do we have to hope that we are no being lied to by the corporate news media, they are in it for the money after all. Today anyone can be a journalist , although blogs are not always taken that serious it still gives us the oppurtunity to speak out about things close to us, about issues we could in no other way share and solve. Blogging keeps the news open minded and also enables you to see what other people think about certain topics as the news usually just gives facts according to them, bloggers can give their opinion and lets you see how other people feel. Blogging enables all the sides of a news story to show their side of the story, it gives those that can not speak or defend themselves the means of making themselves heard. Blogging lets you see in the mind of those that you might not otherwise speak to and comments on a blog lets you know that what you are thinking is sain or not.

Still no news about the official election date

November 21, 2008 by evl

The general elections are coming closer, or at least I think so because there is still no official date for the general elections even though some people are claiming the ANC has the power and the IEC wont let them. Stories continue but the citizens of the country are still left in the dark about the date for the South African general elections of 2009 which would surely be one of the most interesting ones since 1994.

It's not Aljazeera that's anti America, its American's thats anti truth

October 29, 2008 by evl

Sure people rant about Aljazeera, that they are anti American (so they say) but the thing is that Americans are really anti truth, they dont have clue what goes on in the outside world. Recently Aljazeera made a report about the election in Ohio, that is the truth, the people said what they said but the main stream media chooses to ignore it. So why do they choose to not watch both sides of the story? Do you think I am wrong?
