Have you ever used your survival gear?

December 24, 2008 by evl

The other day I got myself some flint and steal. You know you strike the flint against the steal and the small pieces that fall off are heated, they light the tinder which then in turn lights the fire which gives you a real great fuzzy feeling because you did not use any modern form of lighting the fire. Well, to my surprise I found that I had never used a flint and it was harder than I thought. You see you have to strike the flint a certain way to light the fire. It really is not as easy as it looks. This will teach us a lesson. Many people gather equipment for they might need it one day and even though they have the equipment they have no idea how to use it. If you dont know how to use your survival gear it really is not worth the extra weight, especially in real survival situations. Learn to use your gear so you dont get stuck with something you dont know how to use as well as carrying the extra weight.

Role Models - Movie Trailer and Exclusive clip

November 15, 2008 by Daizy

This movie, Role Models, looks hilarious. It probably will have some sappy good feel parts in it but mostly it looks funny. Now I don't particularly like the type film with kids involved, there is just something annoying about watching kids on screen. But these two doesn't seem so annoying to watch. The movie is about these two sales reps, Danny and Wheeler, who mess up badly and they get two choices go to jail for 30days or community service. So they get sent to a organization that gets role models for children. The thing is these two Danny played by Paul Rudd, is an guy who just can't grow up. He gets placed with a sixteen year old boy named Augie, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, who is a complete and utter geek. Wheeler played by Seann William Scott, is the last type of guy you would want as a role model for your kids gets placed with a foul mouthed little boy Ronnie played by Bobb'e J. Thompson. So the plot is pretty much obvious, wonder if I'll be surprised at the end. This movie is definitely just for laughs even though it has a good message attached, if you are in search of something that would make you think, this is not it.

The run up to the South African elections gets more interesting

October 29, 2008 by evl

So we see that more people have left the ANC today and it looks like even more will leave it in the days coming before the South Africa general elections in 2009. This is not a surprise because about half the ANC was in fact Mbeki supporters. Especially those people that sat around doing nothing but spending the tax payers money.

The violence factor is also picking up a bit and you can now clearly see that there will come some serious scuffles in this election.

Interesting as most people outside South Africa see that this is a time to stay out of here. At least according to the people I have spoken to.

Search engine optimization tips - Use tags

September 10, 2008 by evl

You would be surprised how much traffic using tags brings to your blog or website. A lot of people claim that tags make your content look like duplicate content but in fact search engines love tags and you will soon see your search engine optimization using tags works great in your statistics. Tags work especially great when people search for multiple words in search engines. What happens is that the search engin like Google for example takes one word out of the tags and another out of the article that has the other word and matches your search query. So the more tags you have the better search engines will match up the words and tags together to give you more traffic when people search for multiple or more than one word at a time.

How to make more money with Linkworth

September 8, 2008 by evl

There is money to be made on the internet and some of that money can be made using Linkworth. Linkworth is available to South African bloggers which makes it great. They pay through paypal so you'd have to get that part sorted as South Africans are kind of stuck when it comes to paypal. The first way to make more money online with Linkworth is to write decent articles when you accept a mission. Writing a decent article might not get you more money immediatly but its what you get paid for. The money you make with Linkworth is worth investing back into your blog. The better your Pagerank as I understand it the more money and oppurtunities you can make with linkworth. Thirdly. If you have more than one blog why not add it. I was surprised that some of my blogs made more money than others and those were the blogs I almost did not add. So Make money online with Linkworth. Give them a try and you will see for yourself.

Ooh!This looks fun!Desperate Housewives is my favorite tv series. They are going skip 5 years and take of from there. So exciting I love how they almost always manage to do something no one else has. I can't wait to see what has happened to everyone. I went and read about the upcoming season and don't want to spoil things but I believe there are going to be a couple of surprises.

Bikini beach in Gordons bay from the road

July 7, 2008 by evl

Still getting to learn the new lens on the camera this was taken with a eos 450d with a sigma 18-200mm lens. The sea was wild and streets almost empty while helderberg was almost dark it was only around 4pm. We have some weird weather here in Cape Town this year. While writing this I am also watching the news and seeing the floods in Cape Town I am surprised the Helderberg area is getting off rather well weatherwise.
