Venice biggest flood in 20 years

Venice consist of a small islands basically in a lagoon. that they over the years have built a city upon. The water levels have reached 1.56m that is 5ft above normal! As you can see the people are wading through the water, some doing shopping others taking pictures even after they have been warned not to go outside. Everyone I know who have been to Venice had told me about how much the water stink and it's well known how polluted the water is. Now why they don't have that built yet is because funding is short and environmentalist have problems with it. They need to think fast because I'm sure not the only one who won't enjoy walking in water.
