The ANC propoganda sms doing the rounds

March 3, 2009 by evl

There is a new ANC sms doing the rounds. Some people on twitter also confirm this. The message reads as this:
The contents of the SMS: More than ever b4, ANC needs you, cadre! We now know that more than 6 opposition parties have secretly signed a pact to form an unholy alliance& counter revolutionary coalition to combine their minority votes to stop & unseat the ANC from government, there is only 1 thing that can stop these sinister & hypocritical motives...its an overwhelming 2/3rd majority vote in the upcoming 2009 elections! A minimum of 70% election victory is our target to avoid this calamity which is aimed at regressing our democratic gains whilst perpetuating an emergence of few black elite class! Your resposibility cde is to... commit ,canvass& campaign for the ANC as never b4 2geda we can do it(pass sms 2 at least 5 cdes ) ALUTA!!!
Seem that the ANC is really desperate and they cant win the normal way of actually delivering service. Instead they have to do fear mongering.

How many votes could the ANC of lost

December 21, 2008 by evl

breaking.news.jpg

I was just thinking this morning that if everyone that has left the country because of corruption and crime could vote, there would be thousands if not hundred thousands of extra votes for other parties.

Most people probably left because of the ANC's way of ruling or rather not ruling the country. First there was Mbeki that did not have a clue what was going on and now there is the second half of the ANC with the Zuma crowd and who knows what will happen next year.

If everyone came back that emigrated and moved to other countries we would have a massive chance of breaking this 2/3 majority.

But I know that wont happen. To be honest if I could of emigrated I would of done so long ago.

Where to watch and find breaking news online - For news junkies

December 18, 2008 by evl

I am a real news junkie. I dont know why but its like an addiction. I want to know things before the rest of the world knows them Also running a blog I can blog about things before others blog about it. Its just plain addictive. So here are a few places to get stuck on looking for breaking news. Some you know, some you might not. Some are obvious. Lets explore: Google News Google News is probably a crowd favorite and I can understand why. Instead of just showing one news source it shows the collective topic all the news sites are talking about. So instead of just finding one breaking news story, you'll find that breaking news story showing all the sites that write about it. One thing worth it is to customize your news on Google News. Personally I dont like sport so i removed it. screen-capture.png Newsvine Newsvine is like a news community where you can vote on news and share news. Its basically as I said a news community. This is worth checking out although if you are not living in the US you might not enjoy it that much since it mostly focussed on US stories. screen-capture-1.png Twitter Twitter can be a great source to find breaking news. Oddly most people that have breaking news usually use the words "breaking news" For instance doing a search on search.twitter.com and searching for "breaking news" will give you many results and mostly when bloggers and tweeters break the news, it's before the news channels and papers. screen-capture-2.png Addict-o-matic (addictomatic.com) This is a different type of way to find the news. This will not really show you all the breaking news from random topics but will enable you to find news about a specific topic. By choosing your sources and typing in your wanted word you want news for it enables you to find news or articles from various places. Although you can find breaking news here about a topic you might also find things that are a bit older. screen-capture-3.pngscreen-capture-4.png screen-capture-5.png screen-capture-6.png

Democratic Alliance to bring back the scorpions

November 25, 2008 by evl

If the DA wins the general election they will be bringing back the scorpions the Anc has broken down in a matter of weeks. This important part of stopping the corruption and filth of the ANC is much needed, especially since those people that voted for the Scorpions to desolve is corrupt themselves.

The DA (democratic alliance) says in their "DA

South Africans should be able to vote abroad

November 22, 2008 by evl

What kind of crap is that, that South African citizens are not able to vote abroad? Criminals can vote but people who left the country because of crime but really want to come back cant vote. See they want the country to change before they do come back and how can that be possible if they have no say in matters. If they were born here they are South African and they must have the right to vote. A discussion about this topic is also busy as we speak at Constitutionally speaking So why cant they vote? The reason people outside the country cant vote is probably because the ANC passed a law quickly before the 2004 elections As a old article from 2004 rights from news24 :
Parliament adopted a controversial election bill on Friday that excludes citizens living abroad from voting in general elections next year. The Electoral Laws Amendment Bill was adopted after a last-minute change that effectively bars any South African abroad from voting in elections, expected to be held during the first half of 2004. The ruling African National Congress (ANC) supported the withdrawal of a clause to the bill, which was approved by the National Assembly's home affairs committee last Friday. The clause would have allowed special votes to students, businessmen, travellers, and citizens temporarily out of the country to vote.
Today Helen Zille met with the IEC to chat about some things and amonst the topics that came up was just this. From news24:
Democratic Alliance leader Helen Zille will lobby for the right of all South Africans living abroad to vote, at a meeting with Independent Electoral Commission head Brigalia Bam on Friday, the party said. Zille said that Section 33(1)(e) of the Electoral Act provides for South African citizens who are temporarily abroad - for purposes of a holiday, a business trip, attending a tertiary institution, or participating in an international sports event - to vote in national and provincial elections by special vote. The DA believes that the section should be extended to include South African citizens who are living abroad, many of whom intend returning. In addition, to enable these South Africans abroad to vote, it is essential for the IEC to make provision for them to register at South African embassies and consulates. This is critical if the IEC is to fulfil its constitutional mandate.
