Well done esvl, you are responsible for at least one ethical blogger. Slightly off topic, I see you have been doing a lot of work on your pages the last few days, it is looking good.

Ja, esvl you got it right on the nail buddy! And let me be honest and not pretend that i am Mr. Goody Goody, i am also a human being and make mistakes just like any other:

I am guilty of point #4, adding people as friends on MBL and BlogCatalog without having to visit their sites. Especially my non-African friends. But now that you've brought this up, and say that it is unethical, which i now agree fully, i will go back to each and every one of them, visit their site and give them some true love.

And on the whole, as you know, that each site that i visit now, if i liked the content then i ensure i bookmark it. And just to re-itterate Arnold, Quality over Quantity is important.

I am glad that i have you guys to learn from for my blogging!!

All bloggers would like to increase the traffic to their sites, but as you say, there is an ethical and unfortunately an unethical way of doing this. My motto is quite simple, you give me a nice story that I find interesting and I will give you something in return. Depending on the circumstances this could be in the form of a comment, a Stumble, a Digg or maybe just dropping an Entrecard (or any combination of these).

I have strong feelings about this. I feel that if you want to get higher in the rankings, take your friends with you. The ride is going to be shorter and a lot more enjoyable if you do it this way.

Many bloggers also tend to forget the golden rule. Do not worry about statistics, worry about content. If the content is great the statistics will follow.

Nice thought provoking post.
