I guess some people will disagree with this and say it does not matter but I have gained some traffic by doing this so I thought its worth sharing. If you target people in America plan to publish your post when you know most people is in front of their computers which might be in the morning at 10am.
Planning when to publish your post especially if you plan on submitting it to places where you are part of can be a great idea. Lets say you live in South Africa where I live. You want South Africans to read your post as soon as you publish it, the best thing would be to publish it around 10am when most people are at work and busy blogging. Watch local blog services and see when most people start posting, so half an hour before that would be the best time to post content because most people read before they post. When I get to my pc in the morning I first read what’s new before I start posting so publishing something just before other people in your targeted area start posting will have a impact on your blog.
Getting comments earlier in your post will increase the chances of more comments and more people linking to it. As people do not often link to something they might find to be old news.
