When making yoru survival kit, get something that lasts. For instance matches vs flint. If you have to choose, choose the flint because it lasts longer. The reason for this is you wont know how long one would need the survival kit during a war or disaster. It could be for months. So the longer a item lasts the longer it will be usefull which is quite obvious. So when packing stuff in your survival kit make sure it is long lasting and of good quality.
