Twitter competition to Google

Tuesday, February 10, 2009 - 01:36

Maybe I understand this wrong but I have been reading so many blogs saying that twitter can be competition to Google.

My opinion is that they might take a few hits but they are far away from being competition.

Imagine looking for your next holiday location or the name of a band on twitter. I dont think you'll find it.

Maybe one day twitter will have enough information to compete but I doubt it. By the time its on twitter and you find it, its probably old.

Where as the same search on Google you'll find it moments after its been posted.

If that makes sense

The amount of people you have at your disposal to get information to you might make it a competitor to Google (eg: quickly looking for a CSS tip, but not sure what it's called and what to Google for)

I'd rather say it's a companion and not a competitor.

Oh, yes totally. If you put it that way. I have gotten more css tips on Twitter because I could not find it on Google.

I think i'll also call it a companion.
