It was most probably a Virus.

The problem with AV software is that it needs to have SEEN a virus already, to know it is a virus. Human beings are much smarter than this.

We have intuition which rocks... and our analysis of symptoms is still better than machines.
For instance..we can realise, oh crap, my machine is acting...."funny".
Strange that computer's can't do that (yet)

Well' I saw you moved over to Mac's. Good man! I just use PC's at work, and have subsequently learned how to fix all the thousands of software, hardware, Virus and OS issues windows has (eisch)

Strangely enough my Mac's at home have just always worked... mhmm (intuition and analysis kicking in again.)
