There are thousands of good things to call their new project but why call it knol? Does knol even mean something?

Lets have a look.

Knoll can mean any of the below:

1. (n.) A little round hill; a mound; a small elevation of earth; the top or crown of a hill.

3. (v. t.) To ring, as a bell; to strike a knell upon; to toll; to proclaim, or summon, by ringing.

So I wonder which one Google chose.
