Why rss subscribers does not always matter

So i discovered that for a site that gets this many

I think there's two kind of blogs: The first attract many different visitors because theses blogs covers various topics, but have a few rss readers.
The second have a smaller, but regular audience because theses blogs covers specific stuff.

For exemple, my two blogs:
Cats Who Code: 2000+ unique visitors per day / 650 rss suscribers.
WpRecipes: +/-400 unique visitors per day / 250 rss suscribers.
