Wine 1st release.
Wine is a special Linux program to me. Way back when I first started using linux I only knew how to use certain windows programs, and those programs only functioned in windows. So as any noob would do you go off to search for ways you can run your old software instead of exploring the new. Those days there were not many linux graphic programs and games etc. That was way back.
Wine is the program that made if easy for me to switch over from using Windows to using Linux because there were still some programs I could just not go without in Windows. Thanks to wine it made things easier.
So for me wine is Linux program i have been using the longest.
So today they have officially released the first version and even though they might never read this I would just like to give them a thumbs up for achieving something great.
Wine is not a windows emulator but a complete software workaround to get your windows things working in Linux.
